Q:

Optimal ring height with swfa 10×42

Like the subject states. Looking for optimal ring height with the 10×42 swfa mated to matador.25 short before I place my order. I’m leaning toward the mid Burris z-rings but am open to suggestions thanks

Medium rings and my fat head didn’t mix :winkn:

I’m using Mediums for over 10 years now.

After spending a shit load of money on rings  I’ve settled on these cheap weavers from Walmart 😛
Waiting on my atlas to show up from tony. Hopefully have some 285 yard groups to post this weekend

I’ll probably end up trying all these you & Greg suggested. Trying to find the best combination for a consistent cheek weld in all shooting positions at this point.

These work best for me

Thanks Greg !

I read your thread about the matador the past couple days. Very good information :8:

I went ahead and ordered the medium z-rings before you replied but will keep those rings you suggested in mind!

Just waiting on the gun and all the accessories to show up

Hey LB,

Medium high on my pups …….. and If you like the Pos-Align Inserts technology.
Crap if they made them a bit less with meat, but it’s a better fix downward onto the rail.

Like and heading towards …… and have been using these.

The barrel tension hex nut can have an influence on the alignment of the barrel with the scope rail.
I used a bit of moly lube on the contact points on the hex bolts shoulder to reduce the friction that has a tendency to twist the barrel / frame CW when tensioning.
