Q:

Ordered Up A Marauder HDD from Airguns Of Arizona

With the .25 caliber there must be quite a bit of hammer bounce because the shot count increase a local guy gets is about the same as adding a resevoir extension.

Anyone added one yet?

Sweet! Keep us posted. I am about to order an Mrod from Airgunsdealy.. $300 for the .22, refurbished but oh well I plan on sending it out to talon tunes for a make over then install the hdd. I am hooked on the performance gain by the HDD. HW100 can wait for a little bit.

I just installed the HDD in about 30 minutes. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the clear tube was doing but it is no biggie. Just note there are two slits in the the clear tube at one end and the flap bends down into the groove to hold the HDD in place as you slide the bolt back in and the bolt probe which is thinner actually slides into the clear tubing. This is done so you can then slide the tube/bolt together forward holding the HDD in place below them. Then you pull the clear tube out the breech where the magazine goes. A piece of cake.

I am about to shot a string and see what kind of shot count I get.

Thanks SE, I was indisposed… 😆

I hope I don’t run into this problem. I have had good luck so far moding my Prod.

If you have difficulties getting it to cock once installed there is a thread on the Yellow to remedy this issue. It appears that Crosman’s machining tolerances aren’t too consistent. 😀

You have a link for that post?

Saw that – that was Steve’s biggest fear marketing these things… Reliance on Crosman’s QA.

I ordered the Prod HDD now. Curious to see what it can do.

That’s what they sent. A little tiny zip lock bag for $35. The block looks very precisly machined and a 2″ piece of clear tubing.

Installing the Prod one looks like nothing.. insert the two washers and put the hdd where the pin used to be in the correct direction.. done. Piece of cake!

The PRod one looks and works a little differently. I would like to see a test report on that one. One guy said the increase was about 30% but that is still good. Did you see the picture of it with the washers and bolt through it?

They have an HDD for the Prod as well.. must get one.

I can’t say enough good things about the 25 caliber pellet and it’s performance. Very, very impressive.

It’s apparently the better caliber for the MRod too.

And the new mod gets you more air…

Win win!! 😉
