P-rod Mods by Marmet_Militia, Fast and Inexpensive…
Jim’s out of town for a few days. He got ID theft’d. Got to straighten that crap out. (I certainly hope he doesn’t end up in jail, and becomes someone’s Bitch!!!)
Anyway, here are his two mods:
The first is the screw-in butt stock adapter for the P-rod. It has a hex bolt inside that screws into the back of the P-rod breech. Handy and easy. He designed enough set back to permit the bolt to travel full length for cocking. The butt stock, folding or collapsible, is a Tippman 98 style, and fits into Jim’s mod and held tight with three grub screws. A brainless update for the user. (Must be qualified with hex wrenches!) He only charges $35 each for these.
Next update by Jim is a shroud extender for the P-rod. This pistol is loud, especially if you upgrade the transfer port to a larger diameter. Two ways to deal with this is add shroud length, perhaps some baffles and/or drill some tiny relief ports near the breech, or Jim sells them to accept screw on and screw in devices at the muzzle. The mini-can shown is not much more than an expansion chamber with a couple small relief holes drilled at the rear. Makes a considerable difference in noise. I personally believe four to six tiny relief holes in the existing shroud, near the breech, say 1/64th” in diameter, could accomplish the same thing, especially if you extended the shroud another six or so inches.
Jim is only charging $12.00 each for these extensions and they screw directly into the Crosman shroud. If you desire, he can put a male or female threaded end on the tip for your personal attachments. The thread fit is perfect!
I added a tac light, 200 lumen, by ordering an additional barrel band, and a Weaver strip mount. I cut it down, drilled a hole, and hex bolted it into the bottom of the Crosman barrel band. I attached the tac light with a 1″ Weaver short scope mount and it lines up perfectly with the crosshairs on my Bugbuster scope. I dremmeled the sides of the Weaver mount to access the two tiny grub screws that center the barrel band on the shroud. Works great and is inexpensive.
I have a folding stock coming. That will reduce the current length from 32″ collapsed, to 26″ folded. Just right for my mischief after dark.

Cyg, I’m getting an honest 20 fpe using 18.1gr JSB Heavies at 675 to 700 fps, and some change.
The only thing I have done is replace that tiny diameter TF port tube with a poly tube, then Jim changed it out for one with a larger ID and its’ maxing at 700 fps. This is with factory settings and not drilling out the upper or lower transfer port chamber, which I feel needs to be done to get air flow up to max.
Once the physical air flow restrictions are dealt with, then my chrony and I are going to have a “Come To Jesus” session with 3K fills and a bunch of adjustments. Right now I have to limit my fill to 2600 psi because any higher and I get an air flow backup and my fps turns stays low until I get the psi down. Then and only then does the pistol begin to shine and show potential.
My goal is two magazines of full power, balls to the wall, 16 shots, at max fps/fpe. This is a pure boat and truck assassination instrument for close night work at 20 meters or less.
The 200 lumen, LED tac light is working out extremely well and centers on the crosshairs perfectly at 20 meters or less. The 4X Bugbuster scope was made for this work. It’s night vision is crisp to say the least.
