Q:

P12 1100 FPS…. jsb 18.1’s

So i been doing a little testing to see what i can ring out of the P12….

Thinking bout going with a 257….

I only have the 3 springs to work with that mike sent with the gun…. light med and heavy….

with the heavy spring cranked all the way in I’m getting a good consistent string around 1100 Fps went up to 1108. double loading I’m getting 810 fps right around 180 bar.

Surprisingly its not that loud… kinda cought me off guard when i took that first shot.. thought the thing was a dog till i looked at the crony showing 1098 !!!!

P12

Perfect example is when a couple of people had Will convert there Koren big bores to .257.

I don’t remember the numbers exactly but they were only around 900 fps. Maybe only in the 800’s. That’s taking a gun that was meant to shoot slugs and down sizing.

After buying a Haley I found that they way a tube type gun makes its power is by really high psi. If you shoot them on a 3000 psi fill there is nothing special. That’s why you have to full the extreme to
4500 psi.

quote Dyotat100:

So put 3 in and now your closer to a custom mold. Put in 4 and your shooting the 257420 mold. 2 is only 36 gr and you can see how much you lost. Slugs also have more drag then a pellet also from the drive bands.

Takes a lot more than just a barrel swap and bigger hammer spring.

i realize that ….

at a .22 cal with the a small transfer port its still restricted… once i bump it up to a .25 cal bore….. open up the valve more, bigger transfer ports and a 24 maybe 26″ barrel heavy hammer and spring…. then i can bump up the PSI….

Do u feel it really isn’t within reach… even shooting a lighter slug???

I wasn’t even testing for accuracy….. Thats no regulator.

I was just trying to see what i could get out of it…. The transfer port is 4.5mm also.

it actually held a nice tight string. i wasn’t jotting down the numbers…

Jamie, how’s the accuracy and did you adjust your reg to get those numbers?
