Pellet lube + shroud
Do you guys shoot lubed pellets through a Tony shroud? Does it build up crud in there? Cuz it doesnt seem like theres an easy way to clean out a Tony shroud…..

What show bike? I hope that citrus cleaner does not burn her eyes.
I use Simple Green on my show bike all the time and it has lots of polished aluminum on it. Washing things with water after is a good thing to do with most cleaners/degreasers. Even a citrus degreaser well work.
Best not use Simple Green. It will pit aluminum because it is caustic.
If it gets to the point that it’s two dirty, just remove the shroud and spray it with brake cleaner or better Simple Green and let dry. I thing it would take many,many shots for that to happen.
Testing done…..It passed.
The marvel of the shroud is it is very light, precise and quiet.

I have thousands and thousands of shots through my Talon Tunes shroud. It gets dusty inside. I just took off the other day. Shook it a bit and it was good to go for thousand more.

from what i’ve seen and shot, JSB and BEEMAN are pure lead and need no lube whatsoever for best performance. DAISY & CROSSMAN both use a lead alloy, and benefit from LIGHT lubrication……a few drops in a tin of pellets. Basically if the pellets are pure lead they tend to do better dry, if alloyed a LITTLE lube helps.
The inside will get a coating, but what tends to happen is that eventually as much gets blown out as is deposited so after a point there is no net gain anymore so you will have a pretty thin layer of stuff inside and that’s it.
If you dry fire a PCP with a dirty shroud you’ll see what I mean.
But it pays not to over lubricate pellets for other reasons too.
Im pretty sure his are epoxy/glued together.
As far as I can tell there is no way to open it up. Actually, I have no idea how its put together. Its seamless and has no kind of fastener on it.
You can’t just take the endcap and baffles out?
