Pellet Penetration Test
Just received the new Barracuda Hunter / Kodiak Hunter and Big Boy Senior. I tested a three shot group at 30 yards (supported but not bench rested). The hunter grouped inside 1/2″, the Big Boy Senior created muzzle rise!!! and grouped about an 1″; I bet it would group better if I bench rested.
Shooting the Crow Magnum, Hunter, and Senior into a target with a hardy plank back stop and then a wooden fence… All three went through the back stop with the crows leaving no mark on the fence, the hunters chipped off some wood and the senior’s penetrated a further 1/3″ and lodged in the post!!!!!!
I’m hoping the hunters produce a better wound channel as the pellet stays intact during it’s penetration… the Crow Magnum’s have a habit of separating on entry with the Predator’s looking similar.

Interesting, thanks for sharing…. All mine were point blank so the energy is a little higher. The Duct Seal was at about 65F.
I did the same with .22 cal a few years ago. My clay was almost frozen, so results were interesting.

i test my pellets (talon ss with 18 inch barrels) into frozen blocks of cream cheese at ten yards. i charge to 2700. the crosman premere h/p’s are good and dont separate, but dont expand much more than a standard c/p will either. i made a nice offhand shot with one the other day at a starling up top of a tree at about 65 yds, took his head clean off!!! 😈
but on super small shit like sparrows, rats/mice/gophers etc. the explosive separation of the crowmags and predators is great. 😈 😆 😈 however the hollow points lose accuracy “points” after about 25 yards. predators seem a slight bit better at accuracy, im guessing because of the red ballistic tip.
