today i went to fetch a tin of .177 pellets and they WERE in a non-screw top tin…yep…at least 300 of them all over the floor! 😯 😯 😯
nothing but screw top tins for me from here forward…i shoulda known better!!! 🙄 🙄 🙄

I take the tape off the tin and stick a piece of it on the rim of the bottom tin. It makes the tin hard to open, but doesnt fall apart at the worst time.

i also buy the daisy pellets and cheapies at walmart and reuse the tins and i also have a bunch of the old plastic snap top square containers the Copperheads came in they work well.
or use old pill containers or film canisters
I just take a bunch of pellets, and put them in my mouth. Then I spit them out as I need them. 😆 I have swallowed a few pellets also. 😆
Actually I use plastic film canisters.
I take the tape off the lid and then wrap it across the lid and bottom to lock it shut. I fold a small tab on the tape for easy opening.
This way they are always taped shut but can be opened easily.
For anyone that shoots paper/short range with wad cutters the Gamo Match Wads are not bad (other than having been labeled by Gamo), they are cheap, and come it screw top tins. ALL my pellets get moved to empty Gamo tins now. Just stick a label on and grab a marker.
My final straw was knocking an almost full box (1250ct) of .177 CPH’s off the table. Now it’s all smaller batches (half a tin) and all screw on lids.

I got a cut from a pellet tin on my trigger finger.
I’m with you not wanting to buy cheep tins but the only thing I found good about Daisy .177 caliber ammo was the nice screw top tin. Those pellets were so loose that one twisted somehow in the breech and caused a CO2 dump. Fortunately I held my Condor up pointed down range for a couple seconds until the frost stream slowed down. Then I unscrewed the tank and the beat up pellet dropped out of the breech.
I got thinking that had I pulled the rifle back instead of maintaining down range, that pellet could have flipped again and launched in whatever direction.
The next time you have that problem give me a call. It seems like business is always picking up for me. My brain wants to multi-task 3 to 4 things at a time but I still only have 2 hands. Maybe it’s an old age thing.
