Pellet Twirling problem
Hello guys,
I’ve noticed that the pellet is twirling through my scope.
I’m using jsb 18.1 grains at 890ft/s.
I tried to slow down the muzzle velocity but nothing changed.
Any suggestion please?

Sorry, by “thread adapter” I mean a piece that was needed on the gen 1 and gen 2 Vulcans. It replaces the end cap of the shroud so an LDC can be attached. One I purchased (not from Tony) was just a bit off in how in held DonnyDu’s device. The one I got from John Hagan was perfect.
That sure looks like something is mangling the pellet.
The fact that he is getting 890 fps and adjusting the velocity not changing the situation really does suggest clipping to me. If it also is tumbling with just the bare barrel, then a nicked crown might also be the culprit.

What do you think? I shot in a water bucket. All the margin seems ok except in one point of the head and skirt [emoji21]

Unscrew the end cap from the shroud, remove the baffles and check the center hole in each one for lead clippings. In the past some have opened up the baffle holes by a tiny bit to solve the clipping problem. It’s a tight fit to begin with, so enlarging the hole/holes by a millimeter or so isn’t going to make the gun noticeably louder!

the mag ……… shaving(s), so single load to factor out the causes …..
So check the mags for burrs ……..
Did u nick the crown with a metal rod or pull through when cleaning the barrel ?
Is the barrel really as clean as it should be ?
The BEST why to theatrically clean the barrel IMO is.

BUT do clean out with each batch change with at least a full mag lead-in before ……………
Wrong speed/velocity for YOUR barrel/pellet combo, not all barrels are created the same Sir ?
My Cricket 22 std for instance like it at 880 fps and becomes very unstable at 890 fps.
Even a break-in period of 2 – 20k shots could change things a bit ………. just being patient sometimes will cure the most.

The exit from the shroud does look a bit off center. I had to go through two different thread adapters to find one that kept things centered.

does it without shroud or when you single load it without magazine?
is the pellet probe aligned with the barrel ani marks on the pelelt probe brass?

Or its clipping shroud. Doesn’t take much to throw it off balance. Take some masking tape and tape front shroud closed. Then mark the circle with pen to outline the hole. After shooting a hole through the tape you will get a feel of where the pellet is exiting the shroud

I see gykuo. My problem seems definitely caused from the barrel.
