Q:

Pellets-Heavy vs Light

Hi guys,

I’m short on pellets so I ended up using some Crossman boxed that I had left. The chrony shows them leaving the barrel at around 1130fps-way too fast but the accuracy is very satisfactory. My shotcount is around 20-30 shots which is too low-obviously using too much air but I’ll stick it out until I get my Hw100 back.
My question is-after chronying Eunjin (23grs) at 929fps and CPH (14,3gr) at 1130fps, at my current settings which pellet would give me a better shotcount?

Thanx Nick

Thnx Hotrod, that’s something I’ll keep in mind. I’ve finally received the heavy pellets (23gr Eunjin) and I’ll have my other rifle back on Monday so tomorrow I’ll be able to set it back to HP. I’m looking forward to seeing what it can do at long range.

I use a higher fill pressure to slow down lighter pellets as a temporary fix, while waiting for heavy pellets.

Thanx Z, I was thinking the same thing. My other problem is that out of my full set of allenkeys, not one fits the grubbies on the tophat. So in order to get more shots/more efficient air usage I’ve put an o’ring under the tophat (I’ll probably need another one) and removed the hammer weight. Am I on the right track? Once I get my Hw100 back the Condor will be tuned back to high power, what I want for now is 1000fps with 14,3gr and a decent shotcount.
Any help will be appreciated.

I never really noticed a huge difference in shot count from pellet to pellet though i guess the added back pressure of a heaver pellet may make the gun a little more efficient.
