Q:

picatinny bipod mount?

Can anyone suggest a picatinny bipod mount for the Mutant (Short)? I thought I’d have sold it by now, but took it out a few days ago and found a few grins I’d misplaced. Then I found a video that had nothing to do with the Mutant, but had an Atlas close that needed a bit of tinkering, but the price seems good. Here’s a link to the video (he discusses the bipod at 3 minutes in) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nxd0jklfz_8
thank you,
Darryl
whoops! the link to the bipod (Atlas clone): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018J1GDPC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=281SJLNUJ3KU6&coliid=I5YFEDBQCYBLZ

STS,
I’m never surprised to learn something new on this forum. So of course I Googled Versapod adaptor. :biggrinn:
thanks Teach! https://www.google.com/search?q=flat-stock+Versa+Pod+adapter&safe=active&rlz=1C1GTPM_enUS681US681&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi78o7a99jRAhWk7YMKHX3TBl8QsAQIMw

You’re welcome, Darryl!

I looked into mounting a bipod on the Shorty and found a few options. There are adapters to work with the typical Harris/Harris-like bipods. There are Versapods, and then there are Picatinny mount bipods. I already had one long (sitting height) Versapod, so I went with a flat-stock Versapod adapter and used that. I don’t think there are long bipods (attached) with Picatinny mount, otherwise I might have gone for that option.

Versapod are quick to attach and detach, but the adapter can be considered fugly and bulky. Currently, I don’t have another gun that needs a bipod, otherwise Versapods will be awesome because it is easy to move a bipod from one gun to another gun.

thanks STS,
I like the look of it. Maybe I’ll see if Amazon or PA has an equivalent ig a more generic brand that fits a flat bottom stock like the Short’s. :winkn:
thanks again for the link. can’t know too much when it comes to making a decision. :smilen:

This may work. I considered getting one, then I chose to use VersaPod instead. Now I have two VersaPods of different lengths, probably will a very short one in the future.

hi ballistic,
thanks for the link. I think I know what I’m looking for now. just have to keep in mind to avoid units with curved mount surfaces. That Amazon search engine ought to be good for a few hits.
thank you!

Ben (mywifeboughtit) put a section of Magpul rail on his, looks pretty sweet.
