Q:

Please check your pressure

I had a lot to work for 4-5 days and I left my R3 .25 long at 190BAR in the tank. When I returned to it it was only 150BAR pressure. I refill it last night to 200BAR and then refill to 200BAR after 1 hour because the pressure dropped a little as the tank cooled after filling. In the morning I had 195BAR…

Please check your pressure for me. Fill in the evening to 200BAR and make sure the tank is at room temperature, than check your pressure in the morning. It’s a simple test.

I may have to change the big orings from the tank but my greatest fear is that I lose air from one of the 6 screws that hold the gauge and the valve/regulator unit. I wonder if that is possible. Ed?

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. It would quickly (a few hours) go from 200-150 bar. then slowly leak down to empty over the week, about 5-10 bar a day.

I had a thread about it http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25862

where oldgoat helped me out. It also has pics of the valve and gauge.

My problem was the hex screw and O-ring at the fill probe was too loose and allowed air to escape. I put some silicone grease on it and hand tightened it and now its holding air.

hope this helps.

It will be leaking from Oring as that is what seals chamber. The screw holes are just first point in line after Oring for lost air to vent out.
I’ve had mine apart a couple dozen times, over 20k pellets through it and it doesn’t lose a single bar of pressure when sitting. Little bit of silicone grease on Orings is all you need.

Those 6 screws can’t primairy lose pressure, it is just a way out.
I think the air leaks from the big o-ring inside.

So it is possible to lose pressure from the tank screws. How did you fix it? The only screws I didn’t put silicone grease on were those 6 ones…

Dont forget to check on the leaking from the guage side as well. Back while playing with my R3 standard with reg adjustment, I notice some leaking when pressure drop a few bar eveydays… not 40bar lose like your.

Easy to check, once you seperate from the barrel part, dip in in a glass of water…mine came out at the 3 screw. The reg side didnt have any leak at all. This is from my R3 gen I.
