I had the same problem when I installed my maddog stock. The builder of the stock accidentally sent me screws from an older version of the stock. When I tightened the one on the forestock , the gun cocked once and then froze. I first tried to find an answer from AF. The woman that I talked to said to just see if I could force the cocking handle open. That bent the handle in half. I then called and talked to the builder of the stock, who was great, and he figured out what was wrong. He had me send the gun to RL to be repaired. He covered the entire cost. The screw that they sent me was slightly longer than it should have been and when I tightened it it went in to the part of the cocking mechanism that something slides over or something. I’m not real savy to the workings of the inside of the gun. They had to put several washers on the screw to tighten the forestock but short enough that it didn’t cause the same problem.

Neighbor picked up the rifle and shot it today. After a small adjustment on the power wheel he is impressed. Will get it across the chrony tomorrow hopefully.

Yeah typical AF. I noticed on newer guns they are putting a type of lock washer on that screw to make it shorter. It’s a bandaid and bolt should be just made shorter.

Friend had the same thing happen to his texan because he tightened up the forearm grip after noticing it was loose.

Did not check the power wheel for marks. Everything works as it should now. This is a cool gun but not a fan of the spin lock or the front grip screw issues.

Did tighen up that screw mark up the power wheel? I had a loose forearm an run that screw into my power wheel. I didn’t notice it was froze till I tried adjusting the power wheel. Gun fired fine.

Got it. What a pain in the ass. If the front grip screw is tiny bit too tight the gun will go forward and lock up. Had to drill out the fore arm screw then replace with an older model screw from my condor. The gun is up, sighted in and ready to fire. Waiting for my neighbor to come over and pull the trigger!

Barrel is out. I cannot ge the grip screw to break free. That has to be the key to this. But wtf has it locked up?
