so buba b, do you own a fac?? are you telling me/us its not illegal to tell someone how to make a firearm, somebody who doesnt already have a fac and a slot for a new gun?
there are a lot of grey areas with regards to airguns…. but one thing that the TAG has always held dear is that we dont rat out our fellow airgunners over stupid shit. Across the pond, it’s the FAC.. here in the states, it’s moderators.
If someone truly does not know the law as it applies to him, then we can help them out…. but I dont think the intent of this board is for anyone to play po-po.
No i dont have a F.A.C but i have had to read the laws for my projects and talked to RFD,S along the way. Yep im saying its not illegal to talk or post on how to make a F.A.C gun but it would be illegal to carrie out any conversion that would put the gun above the 12lb limit unless you RFD licenced.
The law has only acted when it could prove that there was willing intent to increase the power to F.A.C or negligence ie you where not aware that you gun was over the limit , which the gun owner is liable not the seller. This has nothing to do with the freedom of information and as yet ( im pretty sure ! ) there has never been a conviction for anyone passing info on and would like to know how they would police said info with the world wide web?.
If there was a member say on this forum that has made parts for a friend of his ( with a F.A.C licence to up the limit ) for his Tallon on his ticket , then i would class this as an illegal act by him as hes not licenced RFD.
Now on saying this , there are big GREY areas of gun law that are read differantly by FAO ,s across the country but …. they are going to always tell you not to do it …arnt they !.
Take for example a Semi auto airgun which would be legal to make /sell in 12lb form ! but not above ?
Why would the goverment tell the UK manufactures that if they made a semi for sale then legislation would be implemented to ban it ?.
Take my pump action gun im making which i think would only be legal in 12lb form but if it went to FAC levels could come under the laws for pump action shotguns ?. Maybe ? …..hehe.
Thats because current legislation has a big GREY area from 12lbs to FAC which is not water tight …..yet but covered by the same legislation as fire arms.
At the end of the day it comes down to people in the sport being paraniond about the antigun lobby and more laws , thats why you cant talk about it !

firstly i jus want to say thankyou for informing me on your current political battel and im very intrested to know more but the problem i have is alot of what you guys are saying makes no sence to me.

thick Californian head that folks wouldn’t stand for – and may directly,
physically oppose – the very policies our current administration is supports:
registration and regulation of a fundamental right.
He was further stupefied when another Dem voting neighbor iterated my
statements – and backed them by saying he’d side with the gun owners!
In Kalifornication we expeect this bs as ‘the norm’. Nationally… Not so
much.

I agree. I wonder if the military will side with the citizens on this issue? Otherwise it could end real bad. From my perspective it started with the 1968 ban, which, I ashamed to admit I know nothing about (I was two years old) I really don’t see how the pro-freedom citizens can let them (the anti-constitution ppl) have another inch. By pro-freedom I mean constitutional scholars, concerned citizens not just shooters or “gun nuts” like they like to portray us as. I feel as if I’m “Backed into a corner” now.

You can talk about upping the power in the UK its not illegal ( yet ! ) , but you must not do the conversion yourself , that has to be done by a RFD and only for F.A.C holders. Nearly all the forums over here will not let you talk about uprating to F.A.C in posts as theres a paraniona OF YET MORE GUN LAWS ! and about people rushing out to make there guns illegal .
HI Joeyplayer, I read your post, I did not know that it was a joke from the Chappell show. It was not funny here in the USA because obama has proposed to do that very thing! A 500% increase on ammo taxes. As well as making the clinton gun bans perminant and outlawing private sales of firearms.
