power wheels again but with searching first
this was also posted on GTA in PCP>>> looking for answers across the board. I have read at seveal sites on this issue so I not just wimping out on you
I have a new Talon SS and plan to get a airtanksforsale bottle next week, been shooting off of the gun tank up till now. This gun is box stock and i am shooting chp -domed 14.3 gr about 850 at any power wheel setting right out of the box (3000 to 2700 psi)
Like others my power wheel (pw) did not do a thing so i read a lot here and on the GTA site. suggestions were:
adjust the top hat closer to the tank (.070in) at pw=2 and monitor with the chrony for an acceptable low speed (600fps for me) with small adjustments and then it will give you controll >>>>>> not so much
put on an oring behind the top hat and you will have control with the pw>>>> not so much
eventually i combined both : put on 1/16 thick o-ring and adjusted top hat (th) to just touch the o-ring>>> this gives me about 120 fps control of speed going from pw12 to pw2
called Air Force and they put me thru a Q and A session with the outcome of >>> the 59 gram hammer may be too heavy so they are sending me a 54 gram hammer ( ok according to them to mod gunas long as you don’t mess with the trigger without warranty issure). If this doesn’t work to give me 600 to 800 fps control they plan to swap out the air tank ( citing a faulty tank valve)
questions:
is a 600 to 800 fps control realistic with this gun system working correctly using the above pellet
in the non-functioning of the pw an expected issue with currently produced guns
is there a better fix than what i have done already ( oring and top hat adjustment)
is AF’s suggestion on the lighter hammer logical and potentially productive
