Predator Pellets in Condor with 22 24" barrel Just So S
I don’t get as good of groups with these as I do with Kodiaks/Cudas/ JSB 14.3s, 18.1s, or BD 14.3s. Also the .25 Predators are very accurate in my Marauder .25. Is anyone getting really good groups with 22 Predators in a Condor. I am an ex-bench rest shooter so I am pretty demanding. Right now I see a solid 1.25″ consistent 5 shot group at 50 yards with the Predators with a locked-in rest. I have cleaned the barrel and tried different power settings, etc but that seems to be about it. With 5.51 Cudas or Kodiaks I see 5/8″ 5 shots group locked-in and 14.3 JSB are very good as well.
Granted they are more than adequate for hunting out to 50 yards and beyond. I am just curious.
Anyone else having better luck?

My Condor isn’t too picky for most pellets I have tried (7 now) like some of them I have heard folks say. I think the typical shooter would accept most of the groups I get off of a locked in rest but I like a nickle sized group at 50 yards if I can get it. From decades of shooting I cannot compete with the locked in rest for accuracy testing. It makes big difference for me. Things like flyers disappear for the most part.
After testing lubed vs unlubed, different power settings, barrel cleaning, etc. I found unlubed pellets and a fairly clean barrel after a few fouling shots are best. The shroud may make it more consistent I always use.

I have worse luck in my 25 barrel with the predators. But my 25 shoots only one pellet really well, and it is a dandy with that one, Kings.
If I put a pellet in the lead, and push it down the barrel with a rod, it fits loose in the lead, so loose, it will fall out if the muzzle is elevated, then for the next 2 or 3 inches it is tight, then with the weight of the rod, it free falls to the last 1.25 inches of barrel, to the point it hits the choke and is very tight.
Bottom line is, if I do not have a very thinned skirt, like on the kings, I only use 1.25 inches of rifleing.

I use this rest for airgun pellet testing. I bungie the front down and the rear vise slides forward and back. It is unbeatable for taking the shooter out of the equation with PCPs.
