Q:

Pressure check

I’m sure that this has been covered before but my poor oldbrain just can’t find it. What is the “approved” method for telling how much pressure remains in your tank? I’m sure it involves the SCUBA tank fill yoke or the hand pump but HOW??

Thanks again. This place is a veritable fount of information and the people are the best.

Why not just shoot it down?

Sotxguy,

Thanks for the info. I have a 3450 psi tank. I know, be careful not to overfill the rifle’s tank.

If you do overfill it just put a dime in the fill adapter, screw on the tank and SLOWLY bleed of the excess pressure

For the SCUBA fill method you slowly open the tank valve and notice the pressure gauge will quickly rise and stop. I a short time you’ll hear the Airgun tank valve open. It takes ~50 lbs of pressure to overcome the valve spring. When you hear the valve open, note the pressure and subtract 50, that’s the Airguns tank starting fill pressure. With a 3,000psi SCUBA tank the most you’ll be able to fill to is 2950psi.

EDIT. I didn’t see lamas post.

First off, what does your name mean. I have my fingers crossed it’s not animal liberation front. 🙂

I use my pump to check. Just pump it up until the needle stops going up rapidly, and that’s the pressure your tank is at. (roughly)
