Prod shooting

Did some shooting with my prod today. Nothing formal. Gun is stock. Put a tko brake i had lying around on it. A bit quieter. Looks weird. Ill switch it back and forth. Any way its shooting around 600 with h&n ftt. It hits about an inch at 50ish yards if.pretty loud when it hits downrange. Fun gun, Im impressed with it. [/u]

The B and A heavy spring should do fine. I recommended GMAC because they are proven and only cost about $15.00.

I used a drill to open my TP to .132, but I’ve been told .118 is fine. It is further recommended you drill out the barrel port to enlarge the air flow port after it enters the barrel. The guy that told me this also drilled, carefully, his valve port open a bit more and he claims 1000+ fps.

The Prod has a lot of potential. Now if it only came in .25 caliber.

[quote=”Hoot”]Yo! “AA”,

Have you considered the two easiest power mods yet? Drilling out the transfer port to .018″ and picking up a GMAC 22XX power spring?

Suddenly that 600 fps jumps to 700+ FPS, and up to 800+ if you get serious with the built-in Prod adjustments.

Even maxed out, I still got three mags of shots. That’s a great little carbine. I’d certainly suggest a $30 Marmot_Militia butt stock adapter, so you can pick up an air soft collapsible, or folding, shoulder stock. There are some very nice ones out there in the $35 range. hi hoot, couple of questions, will a heavy hammer spring(22XX) from bryan & ascociates work as well as the GMAC spring ? as i have a few of them, would like to use if similar, second question-is the t/port 108″ not .018 ? i contacted jim gaska for ports & got the question, i want to make one of my P-ROD’s shoot hard, & accurate, (it dont shoot accurate) the other one is very accurate , thanks in advance from a new member, roger

GMAC spring cocks easily, I noticed no difference.

The range of adjustment depends entirely on how heavy you want to go with pellets. It’s just like the Mrod, you can take hammer throw/spring tension, up or down, depending whether you want balls to the wall power, or high shot count. Just remember where the OEM settings were, in case you need to go back to OEM and start over. There are some great posts on this forum about modding the Prod.

Either way, that factory transfer port is too small and needs to be drilled out. Even better results were obtained by drilling out the port hole in the barrel to match the size of the hole in the transfer port.

It’s the closest thing to an Edgun Lelya you can find, except it’s not regulated.

Old man hoot, i want some of your magik, getting 20 fts out of eighteen thou? Or you meant hundred eighty thou… That gmac looks pretty beefy. Hows the cocking pull? Stiff? Whats the range of adjustment? The ateam called it well, said they were getting 10ftbs with .1 I havent even pumped it up yet, go it going 500 with 18s and 630ish with ftts. Im formulating an endcap that have a few inch of monocore, and screw in. Id like to keep the shroud and tube equal, i like them being equal. Have either of you had that tko stocky thing? Looks simpler. Or id like a Fold under like the mp40. Any other interest if i made a couple? Ive got a 20inch harris on it. Very nice. Is swivel function worth trying? Also suggestions on cases? When a pistol or take down has a case with form fitting cut out, wow wa wee wa, like to make sexytime, make me shoot my loads.

When you get your stock adapter from Jim Gaska, ( highly recommended ) I’ve got an extra new Tippman Paintball stock I’d sell cheap! 😎
