Purging a tank
I have been having some inconsistent velocities with my SS, and unless a new hammer spring fixes that, I will most likely take my valve off of my tank and have a look inside to see what is going on. In order to do this safely, of course, I will need to purge the tank. Can anyone tell me how I go about getting all of the air out of the tank without just shooting it out? Is it possible, or do I just need to shoot until it’s all gone?

I dicided to invest in a really high quality purge tool. It cost a lot more than a penny though.

You don’t even have to drill a hole, just put a penny in the adapter and tighten.
Word of advice! Use one penny, only one. Most everyone has heard this story, but to make it short I used two once and it won’t do anything, until all of a sudden it starts rushing (not slowly hissing like it should) out and I can’t do anything to make it stop. Pressure gets high enough that it’s impossible to loosen the adapter on it. Anyway, one penny. 😀
I drilled a small hole In a small coin. Then I placed this in my charging adaptor and gentyl screwed It onto the tank. It will get tight eventually and just keep turning It VERY LIGHTLY till you hear a hiss. This hiss Is the air coming out of your tank. You want to drain It slowly to avoid the metal contracting too quickly. Remember to tighten the adaptor up all the way before attempting to remove the valve to make sure all the air Is out.
