Quackenbush .308 Exile
I sent my Oath back to Dennis a short while ago, so have been expecting UPS to bring my .308 since the day after I put the oath in the mail :oops:. Today UPS shows up. I don’t have anything that should be coming today so I’m HOPING its the .308… driver gets out and the box looks too short 🙁 …. But I get hold of it, check the label and it says Dennis Quackenbush !….He’d removed the barrel from the action and packed them separately.
So far its so many times better than I expected (I haven’t shot it yet, just filled it with air and went to the Post Office).

Its looks are from classic hunting rifles. Check out a Remington 700 or Ruger 10/22 – Similar lines. I didnt buy it to look pretty – but I do agree, I’m not a fan of the 700 or 10/22 in stock form.
I must be the only person here who thinks that it’s ugly then? Well, not ugly per say, just a little on the effeminate side.
I went hunting with a guy that was using a .308 DAQ.
He had better luck using the un-sized slugs, as opposed to the sized ones. He got’em from SureFire, so maybe Jerry can share what the un-sized slugs drop at.
Its not that heavy, actually surprised me at how light it is – A bit lighter than my 410.
Stopped raining and I mounted the scope. Shot a few pellets in basement just to check it.

Congrats. Now you won’t have a problem with the really big sparrows.
Remember follow through on trigger pull….. shoot it like a match gun and you’ll end up with it going ‘puft’ and not shooting… happened on the first fill I had on a new gun.
Called Dennis and he explained that I need to do proper follow through.
In short… dont pussy foot around with it. You’ll find the trigger to be quite stiff for a bit, but it will smooth out on it’s own.
Ask Dennis for a spring like he uses in his .25’s and you can drop the power to 140fpe for a dozen to 15 shots out of it. Or you can keep the 200fpe for about 5 shots. Just depends on what you wish to do with it.
You’ll note the tight tolerances on the gun… everything will seem a bit tight at first, but will break in nicely.

I don’t know about that (a custom stock can go a long way on a rifle), but I do know that you were probably the only guy here that didn’t think that ANY of those beauty pageant contestants were smokin’ hot.
