Q:

Question about nikko

I just wanted to see if anyone elses Nikko 10x50x60 does this.

I get quite a bit of clunking in the sidewheel when I twist it almost like grinding and wondered if this is just the way they are once used for a while or should I be worried.

I can live with it if everyone else has the same performance.

Yeah and this diamond was pretty close to some of the leupolds I’ve looked through when it was on top of it’s game lol. The glass quality is really good on the diamond series just this water drop thing that turns out to be oil on the lens.

950? 👿 Those scope were 600 two years ago, and just went up to 800 recently. WTF??? And at this price range Assembled in china??? No way in hell!!!

Lupy, Zeiss, Bushy 4200-6200, Now with these you get quality for your money! Oil on the lens-yeah, right! Screw Em!
cold day in hell when chicom junk is the same quality as the high price spread. And now at the same prices???
😯

Just bought a small Leupold 3×9 , but its got a freaking lifetime guarntee!!! and does what its supposed to. (I think)I just got it today.

Ive been looking around , and there are only a handfull that offer quality scopes . Its a racket now. everybody selling as much junk as they can push.

Its tough to get real nice glass for under $500

Sniper central gave good reviews on the Falcon Menance, but when I found out that some parts were made in China , I had serious second thoughts. I read some people had some trouble with the other Falcon models , I bailed.

If ya want quality , you just have to pay for it. no way around it . buy cheap, buy twice.

quote Yellow Ninja:

My $1500 Elcan scope needed to go back twice…. they paid both way’s both times and 2nd day air at that!

That’s what I’m talkin about and my wife bought a ring from HSC and one of the stones fell out they sent a prepaid padded envelope to send it back and sent another ring out before we even sent the new one back lol.

That was only a $100 item no questions asked.

I just thought a nearly 1K item would have better service.

If they found it was defective (which they will) they should cover shipping at least.

Mam I was told about the lens issue is rare to happen and if they are going to do it you would see it in the first couple months. I was told about how it works by straightshooters which even though I never heard of it I have to believe they know their stuff.

I’ll trade ya scopes mam lol mine is only 5 weeks old maybe 6 🙂 don’t be scared it’s got a great warranty lol just kidding and at least they didn’t tell me to fuck off.

I don’t have 20/20 but I don’t see water droplets on or in my lenses
either…

Thanks mam I didn’t think it was supposed to clunk and grind 🙁

I don’t really care for the water droplet look in the lens either but I was given an explanation that there are oils that are on the inside of the lens faces that are supposed to attract the fine particles that are impossible to remove during assembly and usually you can’t see these particles that are trapped on the oils unless looking through the wrong end of the scope but sometimes there is too much oil is the way it was put to me.

The other explanation given to me is that it’s a numbers thing every once in a while there will be a bad one and I’m a magnet for that type of shit lol.

I have dealt with a lot of companies and all of them send a prepaid shipping label or used to be call tags on high dollar items and if they found out it was the customers fault then they would hit them up for shipping since they have the merchandise the customer had no choice but to do the right thing at that point lol but if it was a defective item the shipping was covered.

It’s time to bite the bullet and pay the shipping (both ways) but I didn’t like the attitude of the representative saying it’s not our fault (which technically he’s right) since they don’t make the scope but they are the importer of the scope so it’s a fine line there and it’s my fault for not going with what I know is solid as a rock with awesome customer service leupold so nobody to blame but myself here.

Mine is smooth Freddie…No noise…

I left 2 messages with their customer service department and no calls back yet but it’s been 3 days so maybe they are just busy with other things 🙂

Just called them back and talked with the rep and I asked him if they send calltags he said why should we do that it’s not our fault that it’s not working correctly lol.

I said how the hell do you know it’s not your fault and are you saying it’s my fault.

He said they are a distributor not the maker and I said that I understand that but most companies send call tags for shipping $950 items back that are defective.

It sounds like this isn’t their first rodeo with returns on this scope and I do understand that shit happens but now I’ll be stuck without a scope for 2 weeks due to shipping time and out a good $30.

He said that’s not how we do things.

I said well if it turns out to be defective and not something I did to it do you cover shipping he said nope.

It also looks like water running down the glass and I’ve maintained this thing to the tenth power it’s never seen rain and only been outside to zero it in and shoot the 100 yard groups that’s it and it’s inside shooting from the bedrooms the rest of the time.

He said I might have over tightened it or dropped it which I can understand that for all he knows that could be the case.

It’s not the case though and he pissed me off a tad bit with the it’s not our fault thing without looking at it.

He basically referred to the fact they are assembled in china and he said to send it in and cover shipping both ways lol but what choice do I have?

The damn thing was outstanding up until this shit started happening and I should have went with what I knew was the best stuff leupold never let us down in the field even when getting banged around and it dirt and dust you name it.

This will be my next scope

Have you contacted Nikko about it ?

I bet they will know exactly what is causing that clunking 🙂

Mines smooth, but yours probably gets used alot more. Still wouldn’t think it should be doing that. Not all that impressed with the scope for what it cost.

that doesnt sound so good.
