Q:

Question about TTTA installation

I finally got my Talon Tunes Tank Adapter and am in the process of installing it on the NOT Spin Lock ready tank. I’ve removed the tank valve from the tank and I find what appears to be a “pinch” in the entire inner circumference of the O’ ring where it seals between the tank and the tank valve. Is this normal?
Can I use this O’ ring, or do I need a new one?
If I need a new O’ ring, where do I get one?

The outer circumference of the O’ ring is undamaged. Prior to removing the valve from the tank, the tank seemed to hold pressure without leaking.

I had no problem installing mine. I reused the O-ring. Sealed up fine and holds air with no loss. Probably should have replaced it, but didn’t have it at the time. When I get a regulator I will replace the O-ring.

I had the same problem. I went ahead and replaced mine and it fixed the problem as well.

I will get to finish setting my regulator up this weekend.

The job is finished. Topped off the TTTA with the QCTH. All that’s left to do is get used to the longer pull length and possibly adjust the eye relief on the scope. After that, proof testing for accuracy.

I may call again, Tony, and get another O’ ring or 2 just to have on hand.

The o-ring is cheap compared to the aggravation and time lost from compromised throw away part.

Mine looked perfect to me so being real cheap I used the old one. It checked out ok at first but after a couple days I notices an overnight slight decrease in air pressure. When it got below 1600-1700 it became noticeable by bubbles and leaking faster. Also at the seam I could see a real thin bit of shinny black ooze.
Days of checking and worry and then another tear down to replace the o-ring with the new one.
One conselation tho, the valve comes apart a hole lot easier the second time.

Sorry I missed your call….
If you need extra o rings let me know.
Tank O ring is #116

I answered my own questions.

I put the original (apparently pinched) O’ ring back in its original position, installed the TTTA, installed the tank valve, filled the tank to 2600 lbs and tested with soapy water.

NO LEAKS. I’m good to go on with modifying the set screws for proper tank orientation. I’ll let you know how that goes when finished.
