Question: breech screw for 2240 NEW PROBLEM AROSE???
..same part number from crosman 1322 b027. However, that screw does not counter sink deep enough into my breech to allow the bolt probe to pass over.
I checked it and rechecked it…the problem is the head size is bigger than my breech hole…and won’t seat properly. I don’t know how old my breeches are…they were bought used from the yellow. Does anyone know where I can purchase the smaller breech screws from with smaller head sizes???? I have one that came on my assembled 2250 which I used on my stainless 2260… but now I need another one for my 2550 pcp.
I already “massaged” one to work, but I would like to get the proper sized screw….Thanks.

Rob, that’s not the issue. I already drilled out the valve body for that same reason. Even with the breech seperated from the tube…the screw does not seat properly.
I grinded it to fit…and it does…but now there is ANOTHER PROBLEM!
When I torque the breech screw down (and keep in mind that it is seating properly…in fact, it is sunken in slightly) the bolt probe will not close all the way. I can’t seem to figure it out. I do not see anything obvious that would cause resistance…) At first I thought it might be the poly tube being too long and the torquing down of the breech screw was causing the poly tube to protrude up through the tp opening…but it does not seem to be the case 😡
It is very frustrating…so I wonder if anyone else has ever experienced this??? When I remove the breech screw (threrby allowing the breech and barrel to rise slightly up off of the tube) the bolt closes just fine 😡 😡

Seems when I did the Disco valve, I had to drill out a section in the valve itself to allow the breech screw to fit properly….. cant recall right now though.
Yeah, RJ, I already grinded one to fit…but I’d like to have nice clean ones for future builds…I will try ace hardware…thanks.
