Joe in that case get a walk butt plate he makes them out of Aluminum alot better than the stoke piece of plastic what I did on mine is I glued the aluminum piece mine is Walnut anyway I used JB Weld and glued the aluminum round piece to the bottle and then drilled an extra hole in my walk butt plate toward the top of the aluminum flat stock that way nothing will turn you have to get the tank screwed on and kind of mark things so when you take your bottle off and on whatever butt plate you have will end up straight

Joe I am not possitive on this but I believe someone ask this same question Walk suggested using air blowing on it between the sleeve and the tank in different places to kind of get it worked loose all around it and work it off that way I have never had mine off but I would think maybe a hair dry or heat gun hair dryer probably better heat gun would be to much heat unless you stayed you distance from it don’t want a melt down LOL! but it seems to me maybe that would work also you might do a search in Quick Ref I know I have seen it asked before or maybe someone will chime in and let you know but I am pretty sure about the air blowing around it to loosen it up 😆

ive got a laminated wood stock. the buttpiece moves a little and i want to secure it a bit better.

If you take the buttstock off and use a blowgun from a compressed airline and blast through the hole, it should puff out and be easily removed. You might want to buy a wokbutt and wokdisk for a secure mounting and a butt stock that is worlds better than the stock one
