Quick Disconnect

Has anyone change the oring inside the Quick disconnect? After I fill my prod then drain the CF tank, the air pressure in the gun goes down as well. Leaving me to guess the o-ring needs to be changed. The other one came with the AirHog tank that I purchased less than a year ago.

Thanks for all the responses, I haven’t had much time to test out the theories mentioned. The gun holds air fine but it takes a few tries of bleeding the air that it will eventually hold. This also happens to me from time to time when I use Ernest’s regulator tester/setter. Ideally the air in the tester is suppose to stay in when I bleed the tank, then to bleed the tester, unscrew the grub nut but most of the time, when I bleed it the tank it also bleeds the tester. Thinking about it more, it also happens with the Raptor compressor.. wait a minute, there’s a common denominator in all 3 cases 💡

This is what I got to replace the inside o ring for female foster fitting. Mine was getting chewed up. This info came from yellow forum I have not installed them yet.

Apply a very small amount of silicone grease in the male foster fill and fill the gun with air. I had the same problem with both my bobcats. Hope you succeed.

You might want to check your altitude above sea level, as the air is much “thinner” at high altitudes, and requires thicker O-rings, or the thinner air may squeeze past the seal. (A = haap/slap / O2ap X ort = SOR)

As CPU said, fast fills over time can cause gun O-ring failure, because quickly compressing air to high pressure creates heat in the receiving vessel, whereas decompressing air from high pressure to lower pressure, from the fill tank, drops the temperature dramatically. Thus, the gun air cylinder gets hot, while the fill tank gets cold. Most noticeable on aluminum tanks…and “sweating” can take place on the outside of the gun tank, and on the inside of the fill tank, if the pressurized air has any moisture in it. Thus, the need for dry air when filling the tanks.

ERGO, I would follow Wing-nuts advice on checking the P-rod seal for failure.

I heard Donny often mixes up the male and female parts. :rofl:

Turn the bleed out screw as fast as you can, because you need the fill valve on the gun to close as to not let the air get back out the fill nipple.
Use a shorter fill hose.
Point the gun down if you can, it seems to help also.

There is also a tinny tiny o-ring inside of the male Foster inlet value but I don’t know it’s size. Like WingMan said if filled to fast, it’ll melt from the heat.

Female Foster 010 O-rings size let me know if it’s that and I’ll send you some ?

Its not the female Foster at fault, its the male one on the gun, theres a small seal behind it that has let go.. normally happens when you fill them too fast..

With the marauders you need to bleed air as fast as possible or you will loose some air in the tank too so I don’t think it’s your quick disconnect.
