Q:

quick slam dunk P12 accuracy videos

Just a couple of quick videos of my P12 from mrodair.com out of the box reg’d to shoot 18.1 JSB’s at 840fps.

I’m working on an edit improving the video quality and doing audio and subtitles so it will be YouTube quality. I also have one in the “tank” I’m about to finish up on with 10 shot group at 50 yards and bottle whacking at 100 yards.

this one is shooting small soda bottles off hand. 50 yards.
I’m sure that this has been done many, many times by many, many guys before but not by me!

the video is a combo of from my position and from just behind the bottles just in case someone might question the distance.

this one is shooting a soda bottle at 165 yards. I can’t go any further back. the ground slopes backwards and the bottles are not visible. I have two other guns that I’ve done this with; my .25 Condor and my Hammerli Pneuma. Both videos are on YouTube.
Again, no mean feat for a lot of guys.

I just wanted to put those that might question the accuracy of the guns sold by modair at ease. If I can do this, 99% of you can too. The other 1%……well…… you know who you are and why you can’t.

Thanks for showing the string.
But it seems like the regulator doesn’t do its job. ES is 37. What happened?

Thanks for the kind words Charlie & dman. 😳
Shooting off hand IMO is the true test of accuracy in a hunting rifle. I can’t miss when I shooting off of sticks or a bag. I’m thinking about moving out to 60 or 75 and see how badly I do.

Yes to the reg. It’s shooting JSB’s 18.1. here is a chrony print out.

Dman, I have. I screwed up and my zero was my aim point and I shot it out so it made it difficult to keep the group tight. I got a video of that too and I hope to have it posted soon. It was 9 shots (miscounted too) and was just under 1” at 50 yards. I may try it again this weekend using a different aim point.

they need some fine tuning. i feel the pressure of 130 bar is a little high and should be somewhere around 128 bar. also the reg is set to fill to slowly so taking fast shots will create that massive spread that you are seeing. some people have reported upt to 10 seconds before the shot levels back off again for speed because of how slowly the reg as is is set. mike has since addressed this issue i think with the new regs though

the barrel in mine is what came in the gun. I didn’t even bother to clean it. 😳

It shoots them water bottles well….

have you put it on paper???

Congrats! Dave, very nice shoting. very impressive, freestanding at 50 yards.

Forgot to ask, Dave, Have you installed the Huma regulator? and how many shots you can get?

the barrel in mine is what came in the gun. I didn’t even bother to clean it. 😳

if it’s not the original barrel I’m starting to get worried now. Just ordered one P12

CZ

What barrel do you have on it now?

It both amuses and aggravates me how people who have never laid their hands on a P12 are so quick to pre-judge

:2cents: :2cents:

My P12 is right there with my cricket….. honestly Ive had a FX 500 a Bobcat and HM1000x and a Cricket (as far as ++ 1500 $guns) and i have shot the best 100 yard groups with my P12.

1.2″ at 100 yards

I don’t think thats to bad for a gun i have a total of 1000 $$ into. considering all the other guns go for the 2k + (except the cricket)

It both amuses and aggravates me how people who have never laid their hands on a P12 are so quick to pre-judge. I think Dave is doing a good job of keeping an open mind and offering an objective opinion. I think he would be quick to point out that the expectation of a sub $800 should not be compared to a $1600+ gun.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the turd Bobcats and a few leaky Daystates that were sent out (after supposedly being tested) had only “minor” problems and were “easily” fixed? The P12 was automatically being labeled as “Chinese junk” before the first one hit U.S. soil. If my $675 (or whatever it ends up being) does not stack up to all of the other guns that I have paid 2-3 times for, I won’t be too heartbroken. If it has a leak or some loose screws, I’ll raise some hell with Mike and he will make it good. If I paid $1800 for a “tested” gun and it leaked or had any other issue, I would raise holy hell and throw a complete bitch fit!

BTW that is some good shooting Tulsa…… 😀

actuallyy I’m the only one to come out about the crappy barrels

I did hint toward it here http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=29721&start=20#p302252.

i was kinda waiting to see how the other 18 or so were coming along but noone is really posting

My barrel was changed out within 3 weeks of getting my gun. I wanted to believe they would shoot well i gave them both a fair shake.

sorry but 1″ groups at 50 yards don’t do it for me.

Now with a aftermarket barrel i can consistently shoot 10 shot 1/2″ groups at 50 yards. i can deal with that.

It’s funny how truth comes out because of Dave G. Now another came out and said he had his first barrel replaced. No mention before though.

There are 20 guns out there and only a couple of people posting about them.

There is a post on the yellow with groups right now and it is not impressive at all. He actually polished the crown and lead and has 3000 pellets through it.

should post this on the yellow. might shut some nay saying buffoons up about how the barrels suck eggs if you catch my drift.

now that daveg has one and is critiquing these rifles that are unchanged its to the point of redicule that these arent up to par with that they were advertised as
