Instead a single spring, I used three smaller springs between the washers, and two or three washers at the end.
As the springs were not very tight fit inside the barrel (smallers than 1″), I wraped the springs with thin fiber sponge (like 5 mm), the one you use to whash and scrap dishes.
The first time I tried it, the mod, the springs were kind of off center, so I varied a little bit the POI, but now it works great.
i only used one o-ring between the washers in mine but i did drill two 1/8th inch holes offcentre of each other and 180 degrees apart…works very well 😀
