Q:

Quite with Anticipation!!!

Is this place all quite with Anticipation or what!!! 🙂

I sure know I am all excited to see the new .25’s hit the shores of our side of the pond…

I do have to admit though, I am thinking more on the standard version or even the long for me… I want the extra shot count and energy over the shorty if one of those is an option for me… 🙂

Hoot thanks I am off the wagon,
Never got on the wagon,
Not sure where you guys are from,, BUT in Texas , The wagons are fast, No speed limits on wagons like there are on cars and stuff.
Getting on a wagon in Texas is like getting on a rocket, Unless it comes to a full stop and you have time to strap in,
Its impossible ,
And no! there not made out of wood anymore , Its 2017 people , Get with it.
Mike

Dam,
Shit fire and save the matches,
All quite on the Mutant 25 front.
Must be getting ready to start shipping them,
I really need a price before I start ordering ,
That’s a hint, In Texas a Hint is , What the hell is the cost of the dam thing,,,
But I know a lot of you guys are not from Texas,
Its all the same , so what Houston screwed up, Dallas Fuc….k up We got to keep the eye on the ball and see who is visiting the wife while we are at work, You do have the cameras rolling 24/7 right.
Mike

Maybe I could borrow some of those blue pills from you Hoot:

Oh, daaammnnn Hoot! You ol’e hooter 🙂 Nah I am just older than most of you guys is all I sayn’… Now just settle down you ol’e Hoot 🙂

:hoot:

Rowdy, I’m sorry I posted the picture of you (above) that you sent me last year when I was struggling with my sexual identity! And, I don’t see where you feel 40 years of age is “old”! Just because you drink like a fish, sleep around with strippers, ride a ’59 Harley Fat Bob, with no helmet, and smoke two packs of unfiltered Camels a day…doesn’t mean you are aging prematurely! If you are worried about that persistent cough, why not try switching to Kools Menthol. They were all the rage back in the ’50’s…hell, even doctors smoked them when they had a cold!

Furthermore…I myself have had erectile dysfunction in my younger years, so don’t worry so much about it…it happens to all of us every now and then…especially if you don’t finish your antibiotics for those pesky urinary infections you keep getting. (Double-wrap, fool!)

Why, it’s a known fact that our forum member from the Peoples Republic of Sweden, Cricket, has been struggling with E.D. for over six months now. He claims he’s hidden it from his wife by using his left thumb. She has responded, according to Cricket, in a positive way because she says it feels a lot longer than usual. Cricket lied to her, and told her he was taking those “Male Enhancement” pills that are advertised on the internet and “Bob” used on TV all the time. Here’s hoping ol’ Cricket can get it back up and running again real soon! Although his wife might get pissed when he can’t reach as far as he can with his thumb!!!

So you see, Rowdy, we all have problems and your’s really isn’t all that bad. The Donald takes charge come next Monday (he doesn’t work weekends) and I’m betting he repeals everything short of the Constitution and Bill of Rights!

Hang in there…we’ll all be dead soon enough, and none of this shit will matter anyway.

Sincerely,

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot:

I don’t know about you or any others on here, but Mike was straight on me when he mentioned older 🙂

:hoot:

Looks like Mike isn’t the only one falling off the wagon. Does anyone know what the hell he is talking about in the above sentence? If someone was “…straight on me when he mentioned older” Hell’s bells…that sounds like one of them LGBT things you see all the time on CNN…I wonder if that sum’ bitch voted Democratic? What do you say Rowdy..Huh? Huh? Come clean…clear this mess up and tell us which way you roll!

……………………………IS THIS ROWDY?…………………………….

Mike…You are off the “wagon” again aren’t you?

Hoot:

No worry’s mate, the gun is still up in the air , Their is no gun to put any deposit down on, Its still in the air.
We are not like the Priest group that have all kinds of anticipation of the gun and jump to and freak out on all the stuff we read and hear
No we are older and set in our ways and wait until the new Mutant is made and ready to set the air gun communality on fire with the Mutant 25 air gun , We sit and wait with a very quite anticipation as we all know the good news will be out very soon of the Mutant . or we can hide and wait or just keep a clean and clear ear open for the new king of bull pups to open soon,
Hear the drums in the back ground , Its the new and improved 25 mutant coming , The drums keep getting louder just listen you can hear them in the back ground .
Mike

You know I being really anal as hell about my stuff, I always clean a rifle all up check pins screws and give it the once over before I even start to start shooting it.

My air rifle barrels as well as my rimfire barrels, never get a brush or metal rod in them ever… Only nylon coated cable with patch swab pulled through them with bore cleaner and or synthetic oil and dry patches after, till the come out clean. Then we start testing and sighting in the gun…

So, this all being said, I would just as soon test my own rifle from the box instead of my dealer doing mine anyway. They are going to be like covered up when new guns hit the deck anyway, so one less to do would help them too…
I think I need to contact Tony and see about sending him my money for all the stuff I want and the rifle, right now if he knows what the figure is or at least close…

That might help him also, heck I don’t know; but I will try to get in touch with him in the morning… See what I can do to help get this in the works and primed up!!!

Well said Rowdy.
I sure hope Mutant has there ears on and are listening to what us air gunners want,
Hint, Hint,
Mike

You know I have been guilty of turning a pellet backwards to shoot something that was too close and needed to control the pellet better for things behind the poi.

At closer range it works really well for me. Might give you guys another option here in like situations.

I perfer to buy the pcp rifles with more than needed energy, then mess with the different choices of pellets that I want, then bring the power to where that pellet shoots spot on. Its much easier to back off the hammer spring to bring power down, than trying to get more from something that ain’t got it 🙂

Now that all said, I like many others here; have the Chrony with the led light and all the other goods to weigh each pellet and bring the rifle down to the point it does all the right stuff for the pellet chosen. By being able to do this with all the hardware and software to plot it all allows me the exact data needed.

Then if its just a little smith work to modify something, I can usually handle that as well, or know someone to help me…

quote KyPop:

I’m very interested in replacing my .25 mrod with a .25 mutant but if it is as powerful as my .22 mutant, I’m not sure I’ll be able to shoot it in my limited area! My standard is shooting at about 32 fpe and it zips right through most of the varmints I have to dispatch. Maybe I could use a .25 standard on a boar hunt.

:hoot:

Dear KY…

You can easily dial down the hammer spring tension to lower the power to the level you need for your neighborhood, and still have the ability to dial it back up when you can shoot at longer ranges.

Over-penetration can be a problem in limited shooting areas…but a problem that can be easily resolved by switching to pellets that expand and/or fragment upon impact. These types of pellets dump most of their energy into the beast being shot. Examples would be H&N Baracuda Hunter, .25 Cal, 27.47 Grains, Hollowpoint. Another would be the Predator Polymag .25 Cal, 26 Grains, Pointed, Plastic Tip. Then there is the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme Pellets, .25 Cal, 28.4 Grains, “Phillips Head” Hollowpoint. These, and other .25 pellets, can be used at lower fps and still carry a devastating punch upon impact. Back in the ‘day, we were hunting at 600 to 700 fps and knocking down game with every shot.

Check out your choices here: http://www.pyramydair.com/a/Ammo/Airgun_pellets/384/calibers_0_25

My first suggestion would be the Predator Polymag’s. They flatten out really well upon impact. You might find out you won’t need to lower power that much in your Vulcan .25, try a few on different backdrops and draw your own conclusion.

Hoot:

That’s gonna take a lot of air Mike

What we want the 600mm Mutant 25 to push the 34gr pellets to 960FPS , If you want less power you can always tune it down,
We want the 600mm little Mutant to reach out to the 100 yard range easy as pie, We do not want any 45 degree shots , We want it straight on at 100 yards, Yea baby lets do it,
Mike
