"AK-47" airgun? How good is it?
Any opinions on the “AK-47” .177 side-lever cocking pellet gun that I see selling for about $50.00 US? I am sure that it is not the one made my the Russians using actual Ak-47 parts… If it were… I’s snatch one up very fast… 😉
I am sure it is every bit of fun as any airgun can be, but how is the quality? Good? Poor?
Does it shoot decent?
(It is not an Olympic target gun I am sure though is it? 😆 😆 )
Sort of a novelty I would think, but I wouldn’t want one if it was not at least reasonably accurate and reliable.

I was kind of expecting just what you said Rob3dr…
I think I’ll pass on it then unless I can get one for oh.. say $20.01.. 😆 😆 And maybe a .22 version would be better too.
Might be fun to tinker with then as a learning tool.
It would be kind of like my Baikal 512M in .22. Not the best but pretty good and it was dirt cheap! ($40.00) And about the Baikal… which needs a bit of tuning to get rid of the creaky cocking cycle, etc…. It will shoot right through a friggin license plate at 15 yards!!! 😯 My .177 Big Cat won’t even do that! (I am using my junk car as a target, so… no I am NOT shooting up the neighbor’s plates… 😯 😆 😆 )

If you are handy with springer tuning, it can be a decent fun gun.
Expect minute of coke can at 25 yards…. with some work, mine is able to keep around 1.5 inch groups at 25 yards, sometimes better…. but I’ve had it apart and completely gone through.
The B3 series of Chinese guns…like ALL Chinese guns… are a crapshoot. I have one little B3 that will do one ragged hole at 20 yards (with a lot of work) and does fine.
You could HOPE for a good gun out of the box…or you could turn an OK gun into a decent gun if you know how….but….
out of the box, expect…
shitty workmanship finish and fit of parts
dieseling for months
wild velocity fluctuations
so-so accuracy
cheap feel
Bottom line, if you like to tinker, it can be a fun project. If you are looking for a shooter, forget it.
It is Crrrraaaaap! And it likes to cut off fingers to when the lever accidentally slam shut!

You can generally find them cheap used…. they have a cheap feel to them, but actually are built like a tank.
With a little TLC, they can be fun shooters…just have the typical Chinese issues…. and as WOK stated, dont trust the mechanical anti beartrap. IT WILL FAIL YOU.
