R3M/.22, factory-set regulator and lowest FPE:remind me
Can someone remind me )again) of the lowest fpe the .22 can be set to by only adjusting the hammer spring tension? I don’t really want to mess with the regulator if I don’t have to. Anecdotal experience is good enough if you care to chime in. Yes, I searched, but I must be using the wrong wording.

The 18’s will go all the way down to 650 fps without touching the regulator (may go lower but that is what I have tested) I found this out on accident because the locking collar of my R3M .22 became lose. My son tells me “I can’t hit the target” one day and I chrono’d the ED and it was shooting 650. I left it there for a while just to see what would happen. My shot count was way up, efficiency (joules/cc) down and noise was very low. Honestly I think at the current regulator setting 830 is the lowest I would go. But it all depends what’s important to you. The gun was still really accurate at 30 yards shooting 650 fps (18.1) so makes me wonder about all this regulator obsession.

btw, do you mean efficiency of air use was down? Or power (joules), which would make allthe sense in the world to me. “My shot count was way up, efficiency (joules/cc) down”.
