R3M .25 Feedback
Hi lads
New owner of said model and want to get some input from old users who’ve had their rifle longer.
I’m still getting used to trigger and getting barrel/regards settled in but want to know if the,accuracy gained so far is the norm.

The coin is a British 5p piece and is approx 18mm in diameter.

Had a quick session yesterday evening and the light if the day was dying but just for shits & giggles I thoughts I’d stretch my ladies legs and see how things went.
A laser 100yds with a mags worth of AA’s which seem to slightly edge out the JSB Kings. A single flyer/pulled shot but the other 8 landed marginally over an inch so us as duo are coming together! :4:

Yes I have noticed this also keyser, I first tried loading the bipod but quickly found quite erratic accuracy and it prefers to be able too move relatively freely so I use a lighter trip now.
I’ve just got another 5 tins of AA’s so look forward to some serious testing.

My EDgun likes AA 25’s. I want to buy some EDgun brand pellets but I can never find them. What I do is push the gun forward with the pistol grip. Don’t squeeze the gun tight just about a pound of forward pressure will do. Let the gun bump, for me the anticipation of gun flip seems to cause more gun movement. I would suggest practicing different grips until you find a consistent feel for the gun.
You can left if for a while running 950 FPS and then you can lower the speed if the accuracy is not better.
Keyser, please give us your thoughts on shooting Matador .25 standard. How did you manage to compensate recoil, what gave you the best improvement in accuracy? Did you test multiple JSB King matrices?

I’ve tried a range of pellets and JSB’s were the first but I found the AA’s marginally grouped tighter. The rifle hasn’t had a 1000 rounds through it yet so knowing me I’m impatient lol
I’ve only put a few shots over the chrono and it was running at 950fps so I just left it while she was running in and settled the reg.
I’m looking forward to getting accuracy like you guys have experienced & chupa chip hunting at 100yds like Ed 🙂
The AA .25s shoot perfectly well through the Eddie. They are made by JSB and they are so close that I have not found a difference in accuracy. This is a super common question on TAG. The short answer is no the gun will shoot better than the targets you posted. Can you tell me what speed you are shooting the AA pellets? Also the gun needs about 1000 rounds before it settles in. The .25 EDgun takes practice to shoot well. It likes to jump. I have had moments where I thought the gun wasn’t shooting well. Then I realize that the problem was me. Look at the gun’s efficiency, extreme spread and the pellet speed. I have found at sea level the best speed for the AA 25s is 925 FPS

It might help if you run the test again using JSB pellets. That is what most everyone uses in their EG. You will likely get better results and it will serve as a more reliable comparison. Good luck.

I have had my 25 cal Matador R3M Standard for going on 2 months now…..purchased brand new from Tony in Florida. At first, when I was shooting it, I thought….CRAP…..my gun is not accurate….at times. I took advice from several here and from my buddy from Louisana and I bought a Harris Bipod. I installed a sling stud and mounted the Bipod. Consistent ‘one ragged hole’ groups at 70 yards. If I shoot across my chrony quickly….as in: shooting, cocking, shooting,…….I get a 20 fps Extreme Spread. But I noticed that if I wait a couple of minutes between shots…….the Extreme Spread will drop to the low teens. This little air gun is the best investment that I ever made!!!! I also have a Matador R3 Standard in 22 cal. That sucker will clip a doves head at 70 yards on a regular basis. Just please don’t ask how I know. Cause I’ll lie. lol 😉
