R3M .25 Shots on Valve Stem
Anyone have any idea how many shots I might get on a R3M .25 standard shooting about 48 ftp before the valve stem gives out? I might want to replace it when it starts approaching its limit. I would rather replace it before goes when I am in the field. Thoughts?

Does the information here generally apply to the R3m/.22 as well?

All EdGun have different mileage, you will never know when its going to go. if your good carry a spare and tools to replace it in the field when out for days and have a BACKUP AG!
I don’t see why not if you keep things in good shape like I do.
I use my rifles in all kinds of weather and conditions so a good cleaning is necessary.
Appx every 200 shots I run a few coated with Balistol through and a single patch every once in a while just to check and its usually fairly clean.
I do a better patch run every few thousand just because and its still quite clean. I’ve found over time that keeping a small tin of presoaked pellets handy and adding them in every couple hundred shots significantly reduces barrel leading and keeps the breech orings happy.
this is great information, Demp. can I expect similar longevity at similar FPS settings in my 2nd-gen R3M/.22?

Yes. Thurough cleaning of every component and clean/Lube all orings.

Wow. That is much better than I was expecting. Guess I do not need to worry for a while. When you do the whole rifle tear down I assume it is just for a thorough cleaning?

I’ve got around 100k on mine at 940 Fps with JSB 25s.
It was converted from SS to multi shot appx 20k pellets ago.
I’ve got 5 replacement stems and a big bag of orings for both rifles.
Haven’t had to use either due to regular maintanece and lube. Lube breech oring every few thousand and whole rifle tear down every 10k appx.

As to your question, I don’t know if there is that much difference between the .22 and the .25 models. Other than the reg/ valve settings, I think it’s the same over- engineered gun!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone post a complaint about the Edgun being fragile. Just keep some O rings and silicone grease handy.
