I was deciding between the R3M upgrade kit and a new 17 Winchester Super Magnum (new cartridge with double the energy of the 17 HMR) rifle and the rifle won for the moment. 3000 fps with a 20 grain ballistic tip bullet.

I have lots of pests around my house when you include the sparrows most of the time. They never leave their favorite trees about 75 yards away. I also have static and reactive targets set at various distances but they are maybe 10% of my shooting. Most of my shooting is from an indoor (to the outside) bench rest and a second outdoor bench rest on a second floor deck under roof. I have my Matador so loaded with lasers and lights I don’t know if I could shoot it standing. 😛 The air conditioning and heating makes shooting all year round and in the rain really nice not to mention the bathroom close by. 😀

Don’t they sell paint (house) over there? 😯 I like the R3M but can’t justify an upgrade with shooting from a bench.

I agree with your comments. If you are in that big a hurry to shoot, stay away from bench shooting. I target shoot a lot more than I hunt, or have an opportunity to take out a pest animal. A multi is the newest innovation demanded by the clamor of the crazed public. However, I never needed a follow-up shot from an Edgun. Where my crosshairs were centered, a hole magically appeared when I pulled the trigger. I used my first Edgun to trim bagworms off a hardwood tree a 150 feet distant from my deck. However, I do enjoy the convenience of having to load only after 12 shots. I am that lazy, and my old fingers take time to handle a tiny pellet for each individual shot.

I believe the price is fair for what is offered.

Side lever vs. Bolt….I favor the side lever. For me it’s easier to cock than the two direction bolt function. A small difference, but one of preference. Ed’s magazine certainly looks a bit simpler than the Cricket’s. More moving parts usually will have a higher incidence of failure over time. But, that remains to be seen. The Cricket’s magazine sometimes takes off running if I’m not careful when releasing it from the locked position. It just falls out and takes off. Ed’s looks to be easier to put in and take out. I wonder if his design prevents double loading, as does the Cricket?

Interesting times.

I never ceased to be amazed at what people consider to be “important” in their personal lives. I often see houses on the verge of falling down, with a new car parked in the front yard, satellite dishes on the roof, and motorcycles on the porch. It’s not uncommon in Arkansas to see a burnt out trailer home, with a brand new trailer home placed a hundred feet behind it. Some people just don’t seem to be concerned, as long as the sucker doesn’t leak when it rains.

I’m likin the bolt cycle and ease of mag change.
Very promising and can’t wait for my conversions.
