Q:

R3M issue?

Wish I could read Russian, google translate helps a bit but some of the stuff it translate doesn’t make sense. What is a heavy platoon?

I’ve seen this issue come up a few times on the Russian forum. My guess is with the mag indexing.

TG there are Crickets to pick up the slack. Not sure auto-indexing is ever really simple. Reminds me of a new magazine on a PB. That turns out to be a very complex endeavor to get them working properly under all conditions.

I seriously doubt there is an issue with over indexing. The paw can only rotate magazine so far and bolt can only go so far back. Under rotation is possibility if bolt not fully pulled back keeping paw from rotating mag to its detent point but given tolerances of components and timing of parts movements the probe going back forward should finish indexing mag the last degree or two of rotation. Looking at vid of mag paw operation one would have to really short stroke bolt to have indexing issues in which case I doubt the hammer would be cocked in process. It’s a really simple system.
I expect a heavier working bolt due to more parts getting moved now.

It has nothing to do with jinxing it – it has to do with reality. The reality was this summer, then September, then October or something like that. For those of us doing this for more than a year, we all know that there are always delays with all new Edgun products; in fact, many or life’s everyday products. It’s a part of life. As manufacturer’s we make projections that we try reach but it’s always a stretch to get it to market on time. We like to announce a new product with an early delivery date to keep everyone interested and this is the result – delays and problems.

If this new auto indexing is here this year, I will be quite surprised. Not being pessimistic here; I’m just a realist.

Octoberish

Please don’t jinx it MG!!

That’s why I have been asking – should we waiting for Windows 3.0 version. The first two original Windows version sucked and so do many airgun introductions or significant re-designs until they get debugged. At least with the Russian customers getting the first batches, they are doing the debugging. 🙂

Woo hoo 😀

No need to panic. After reading all those threads it looks like the issue was limited to only few rifles and there is fixes being implemented.

I agree, for that kind of money I don’t want to get frustrated over a basic thing like mag indexing. It will be on the back of my mind every time I go to cock the gun.

Ted’s FX Bobcat review is out and boy does that thing look impressive. I like the ease of power adjustment, going from plinking to kill mode with a turn of a knob. My major downside to this gun is the length. Without the moderator, the gun is loud so it is definitely needed. Accuracy is what a 2k gun should be producing. Wish he did a 100yd test.

Wow, wow, wow, hung on a second,
lets not try make excuses here, there’s no way a 2 grand gun shouldn’t index/cock no matter how you operate the bolt, no excuse whatsoever

LOL 😆

“Heavy Platoon” is literate translation from Russian

What they mean is Heavy Cocking, takes too much effort to cock the gun and if you dont cock it nice and hard it will not index correctly (under rotate) and if you pull too hard it will over rotate.

So there is a sweet spot that you will need to find. Its not really an issue once you “get used” to the rifle.
