Q:

reading this Mutant forum

I think I’m missing out by not owning a (shorty) Mutant. Lots of nice things being said, like it’s air efficiency, trigger, etc. The main thing for me is the quietness of the gun, as my neighbors are “danger-close” and audible stealth is a benefit for keeping the peace. Also, the Shorty seems just the right size for backyard shooting. Thanks guys. I keep reading the posts in this thread, and liking what I’ve read so far. Any down side or quirks to the gun?

………. more …… for …… yah ……

THe BEST Trigger on a Pup, bar none (with no exceptions) !
After see this I was sold, I had to have one I’m a firm believer in a great trigger group/feel helps with achieving extreme accuracy down range !

More to come on the Baby.

I’m not doggy the Edgun they’re extremely great guns, but I had an old Benji pumper bolt action in my youth and cocked it 10 million times ….. so for me it’s old.
I know you’re having trouble with your Eddie, but once that’s resolved with a new breech it’s a shooter Sir hang on to it till then !!

The reason you don’t need to full cock it to clean the barrel is that it has a very short hammer engagement stroke, it’s about the last inch or so on the side lever travel ………… it’s sweeeeeeeet ! :winkn:

you guys…! thank you for the positive feedback. quite reassuring and sobering (the barrel issue). I imagine the side-cocking is a bit easier to manage than the rear bolt on the Eddie?

Darryl like GKU said and I am sure Soze will tell u the baby is a staple in the gun closet. Other guns get sold but Baby is still here.

Love my Shorty it cost me about the same price as my new Matador R3M.
I was planning to buy another Taipan when the barrel issue was brought forward, I jump on the Eddie.

But my Shorty with it’s updated barrel out shoots it still out to 50 yards, but the Matador is still quit new yet I’m giving it sometime or rebuild its reg ……..
Maybe the Edguns length of pull is to great for me but the Shorty seems a lot easier for me to shoot well.

It’s the only Pup that doesn’t need to be cocked to clean the barrel, just swing open the side lever arm.
I’d wait up for the one with the CZ barrel, then make that jump for one also Darryl all the good things are true about the Shorty.

If there ever comes a day I lost all my Pups, the Shorty would be the first I’d replace !!

The price needs to come down and the barrels need to be changed. The price point should be no more that 1250 retail give or take with a CZ barrel. I hope the retailers get there act together and lower the price. I would hate to see such a fine little gun be put on the shelf because of greed

You may need a new barrel. But outside that if the barrel is fine the gun is a KEEPER! No Joke!

hey Oakey, thanks for replying. I’ve read on these forums that CZ barrels will be forthcoming in future Mutants. So if that’s the case I will assume the issue of barrels will be past tense. I’ll wait and see, of course, but this BP is fits the bill for me in a lot of ways, as I’ve mentioned. I’m sure some vendor will announce the new barrels at some point. Until that’s a resolved issue I’ll just sell a bit more blood to finance the gun.
Darryl

When were the shortys gonna be supplied with CZ barrels? I heard the maker was trying to get it fixed so the shorty would ship with cz barrel.
