Thanks for clarifying that Hoot. I read your post about the GMAC springs a few weeks ago but thought it’s for a full on balls to the wall steroid mod.
I agree on the power and range as well, that’s just about where my Talon SS is velocity wise.
While the “little Prod” is now about 3 1/2″ longer than my SS it seems to hold better off hand.
Thanks 80
Oh yeah,
I muzzled the Bitch! she don’t bark no more 😆

Kick ass bro! Get that spring like Hoot said then it will have equal bite to it’s obvious bark 😎
Seems more tinkering is called for.
You MUST have a heavier spring if you want velocities in the 700 – 800 fps range with JSB 18.1gr pellets. I recommend the “GMAC 22XX heavy spring”, as it only costs about $15.00 shipped and I know for a fact that it works! There’s mention of it several times in the Prod comments. Do a search on GMAC Spring and see if you can’t find it. I’ve got the site address on here several times so it should pop up.
If you can’t find it, PM me and I’ll get it for you. Believe me, I did all the above and until I replaced that spring (stupid simple change out) I couldn’t get the velocities I wanted. I tried all the factory adjustments, but the spring is what starts the other mods to working. The TP and factory adjustments are merely complimenting the air pressure released by the replacement spring.
If I’m lying, I’m dying.
Don’t waste your time until you get that OEM spring replaced. Another mod that will help a bit is to angle the breech port a bit to make it less of a right hand turn for the air. A bit of file work with a needle file or a Dremel tapered stone will do it easily.
One gentleman claims 1000+ fps by drilling the valve port out as well. I never did that. 750 to 800 fps is plenty of power, and you can still get a good 24 shots out of a fill. That’s from my personal experience. Your fps will fall over the 24 shots, but it was still at 690 to 700 fps on the last shot.
If you can’t kill what you’re shooting with that, buy a large brick. Also, I found accuracy was unaffected at carbine ranges. At 100 to 150 feet 30/45 meters, it is deadly on most anything you hit. That will take out anything at the top of a tall tree, or at the back of most yards, so it’s a good home gun. Plus, GTBJ is making a custom shroud for the Prod, and I can just about guarantee you it will be dead quiet, except for valve ping and pellet impact. That’s as neighbor friendly as you can get.
Regards, and keep us posted…

Thanks, folks!
Yup, what Hoot said. Although on Jim’s website it says it “can” change velocity I just checked over the chrony and no change. But, the velocity seemed awfully low (652-637fps) with 2700 psi w/ JSB 18.13gr after drilling the transfer port to .110 and the hammer preload in 6 turns and installing an AOA HDD.
Seems more tinkering is called for.
That’s a Jim Gaska “Marmot_Militia” butt stock adapter. It simply screws into the pre-threaded hole in the back of the Prod. It doesn’t change any settings, or affect performance.
You simply do any internal adjusting before you put the adapter on. It can be removed easly if you need later adjustments.
For the $30 to $35 price, you can’t beat it.

Looks too clean to be a RJ mod… 😆
Very nice! Notice any difference in performance when you added the butt stock adapter?
