How did you tune the gun? Just the One piece Top Hat?

The only changes to the gun are the TT Top hat and inserts, TT shroud, and Maddog stock.
I paid attention to only three things… The power wheel setting, the psi, and the TT valve insert. With the smallest insert, I shot three strings from 3,000 psi on down, with each of three power wheel settings (2,4,6). I was looking for the power wheel setting that gave me the closest standard deviation. I found it at 6. Then I studied each of the three strings to determine which span of psi gave me the flattest curve. I found that at 2,300 down to 1,900. That’s all I did.

I just double checked the insert, and it is the smaller of the two, so the information is sound. I will say that if I fill my tank to 3,000 psi, and set the power wheel to (2), I can get the same pellets to shoot in the mid 700’s…. Is that more along the lines of what you thought you would see? The benefit to this tune appears to be a flat string with good power AND good eficiency/shot count. That’s why I shared it with you guys… Was trying to share some good Intel 🙄

That fps seems high for the small restricter.

I’m still new to all this, and may I say thank you to all of you for all the information here. There is a wealth of information and I am slowly making my way through some of it.
I wonder if some one could just help with “one piece top hat with inserts” I know what the top hat is, and the one piece top hat ….. I just don’t know about the inserts or what they are. Could some one spread some light on it or direct me to a picture please.

Dave the inserts are made of brass they screw into the Top Hat and reduce the size of the opening in the Top Hat in turn reducing the amount of air leaving the Bottle into your barrel allowing for many things to happen a savings on air, more shots. You can shoot lighter grain pellets which you can’t do with stock Top Hats or any other after market Top Hat that I am aware of but I am new to this as well. The Single piece Top Hat is a great product and like most everything else that TT makes from my experience it is very high quality craftsmanship.

yeah brings power down so u use lighter lead it is awesome. Yeah the noise level decreases a little especially with a shroud. The hammer slap mod helps a lot witb the noise as well.
Hey Oakey when you use the one piece top hat with inserts does this make the condor silent ? Does this result in power loss ?
Seems so. I don’t have a good understanding of regulators yet. So you set the reg to an intended psi?
It’s much better string. So if using 2200 psi reg, you can get all shots around 927 fps.

No when I use the smallest insert I can shoot very light pellets at lower velocities. Shooting 18 JSB’s at that fps seems fast that is all.
