Refreshed Lelya 2.0

Ed presented Lelya 2.0 a year ago on IWA 2016:

In 2017 Lelya 2.0 was redesigned and it looks like that right now:

What do you think? Which one is more pretty for you?

Hate the waiting lol! Sure is a swell looking airgun!!

I’m liking the new one. Curious, like everyone else I’m sure, when it will hit our shores and if still offering .20 variant?

Regards,

DT

If priced reasonably, this would target Mutant Short buyers.

How very true!

Hoot:

Would be nice to have a comparative review :8:

That poster is from last years concept lelya, it was a longer gun based on the smaller lelya and veles air tube.. this is an all new ground up design.

Well that now makes sense. So it’s 23.2″ with 40+ shots in a .22. What’s the airtube volume? If priced reasonably, this would target Mutant Short buyers.

Barrel length 37 cm
Weight 2.7 kg
Rifle length 59 cm

Where did you get your specs since it certainly doesn’t match what’s in this photo above the Leshiy. If I strain my eyes I believe that reads:

Length = 25.75″
Barrel = 16.29″
Volume = 136 cm3
Pressure = 300 – 120 bar

The moderator design is pretty smart. If you want quieter, you can 3D print a longer baffle/shroud. Overall size wise, it’s far from the old 20.4″ Lelya and more like the 26.8″ R3M Short in length.

quote Pippo:

Does anybody know if the Lelya “Charleston” multishot will have a re-engineered cyclying-indexing mechanism?

I really hoped Ed re-engineered the indexing of his latest multishot offerings. The indexing of the R3M is way too dated compared to the other manufacturers. It needs to be butter smooth with less effort. Don’t hold your breathe though since the same mag engage/disengage lever is still there.

quote ElmerFudd:

… Would be great if the cocking lever is black as well….

The unfinished look (shape and color) makes me believe it is still a prototype…

Me to I agree the new design is nicer than the previous one…

What is the new barrel length?

Barrel length 37 cm
Weight 2.7 kg
Rifle length 59 cm

Move the trigger back a bit and add a foregrip …. then call it the new R4M.

quote Wingman NZ:

The new one is far more appealing to me over last years concept gun.

The old Lelya was much smaller and lighter but this added size has made it easier to shoot (for those who have never shot the old Lelya its not easy) also it is packed with upgrades, Ed has added everything to the Lelya that you guys asked for…

Multi-shot
Forward cocking lever
Longer barrel for higher velocities
Safety catch
Larger offset Moderator, (thankfully not that square one)
Sling attachment
Better ergonomic breech position cheek distance to scope mounting rail for more scope options
A larger Matador diameter air tube for more shots (40-45 in .22)
Spare mag storage
Easy maintenance and disassembly

Do you have exact specs on this new Lelya? I’m curious to know size wise how it compares to say an R3M. It would be cool to see both in the same pic. I agree with others that it’s a vast improvement over the one shown last year. Would be great if the cocking lever is black as well. I wonder if you can remove the handle part of the lever after you decide which side works for you? It also would have been nice if Ed incorporated a foregrip of sorts under the airtube.

So are these all prototypes to test the market or will it actually go into production? Lets not forget it was a year since the last futuristic Lelya prototype. This one however might actually sell really well.

Loving the look of of the new Lelya, can’t wait to get My hands on one.

Lelya I have now is a keeper and this baby looks like it will be even better.

Any idea of the price and when they will be available in the US? I think I want one.

What is the new barrel length?
