Q:

Reg piston o-ring

There are 2 o-rings inside the regulator, what material should they be? NBR 70 or 90? Hard or soft? My take is the harder NBR 90 will not wear out as fast but at the same time it might not keep a tight seal so the reg will leak…

Thanks Cricket..good to know the 90’s won’t work on a probe..Will stick with 70’s. I have a ton of them..

I ordered fill probe o-rings in NBR 90 and they don’t seal properly. They are 1,5×3. That is where I got this Idea from, I will get 70 instead along with reg o-rings but still appreciate any feedack

Never heard of anyone using 90 rated orings for this application. Too hard.. It needs to have some “crush” to seal. I believe Ernest recommend v75 in the regulator, and i had trouble finding them, but have used v70 with no ill effects. I would think the v75 & 90’s would be better in the fill probe pair, as I seem to go through them the most.

In my small town I am super thankfull when I find tge correct size. Nevermind the “correct” density :3: :biggrinn:

I doubt that even the hardest oring would not seal perfectly (when lubed with silicone grease). Should get some intersting replies :8:
