Regarding non-moderator mods for the quietest Talon
Hi guys, realizing sound is the result of pressure wave propagation and thus the biggest reduction is obtained from the use of a moderator, has anyone determined the best scenario/set up/servicing procedure(s) or mechanical modifications to reduce total sound that results when firing a shot. In canada we are not allowed moderator use by law so are limited to what can be done.
My initial thoughts are reduced velocity through the use of heavier pellets, lowering the PW setting to reduce excessive discharge pressure within accurate and practical limits and perhaps using silicon grease. Is there anything I might have missed? In referencing the heavier pellet use, what has the collective found to be the choice, I would like to primarily hunt with mine.
This could be helpful to others in similar situation I feel.
Thanks to all in advance for any helpful input 🙂
