Regulated condor?

That is exactly what I think I got to have next also… I want to build a regulator into a EteC… I think I can install the inerds of the Rapid MKII regulator in the EteC with very little changes and no added OAL also…

That’s sounds good but what about the regulated air area, i think that the area that the regulated air occupies is kind of critical to consistency.
I have inquired to air hogg about there reg system but i don’t like the carbon fiber tank and i dont want to run on 4500psi pressure.
I have a 4500 psi 88 cu ft tank but if i tried to fill to 4500 on the rifle i wouldn’t be able to fill but one time.
I dont know how there reg system works ,but i think that the co2 adapter has a rod that goes thru it and opens up the tank valve.
I would think that the tank should be open to the regulator and the regulator should be open to the adapter and the adapter shoud be pretty much empty to make room for enough regulated air for at least 2 shots so to keep consistancy.

Here are the results of our new HPA System on a TalonSS.
We used JSB .22 Jumbo (16gr) pellets for our test.
We got 149 Shots!!!
Averaged Muzzle Energy @ 25 ft.lbs,
Average Velocity of 844.9 fps
Extreme spread of 19.4 fps.
The system incorporates a modified CO2 adapter with a proprietary regulator set at 2200 +/- psi out.
As you can see from the pictures below this allows for greater consistency, accuracy and power through all 149 shots.
All for only $349!!!
Accessories not included. 

I just wonder what they have done to the co2 adapter, is it completely open or what
I have read alot on here about using the reg system and they were not completely satisfied with it for the money spent.
I think that it has something to do with not haveing enought regulated air area.

Yeah, I have worked on my Rapid modifying the chamber to get the size I wanted to get the shot about the right charge(fps) from the regulator as well as without the regulator on it… The MKII works both ways with its chamber…
Here with the AF guns, we have the tanks a straight shot basically, we add on the regulator, we are going to need the right cc’d chamber basically with the addition of the milli-second the valve is actually opened to help feed the chamber to add to each of the shots fired from the setup…
Least this is what I have encountered with my MKII… I sure would love to mess with this on the Condor of mine anyway… Heck I might be fooled in thinking I could do the same basic setup with the exception of mounting the regulator on and inside the tank…
I do have all this in my head of how I think I could do all this and even have somewhat an adjustable chamber to help dial in the fps I would want from it… So you could dial in for better shot count or dial up to shoot through the side of the old barn to kill the rat on the other side, or just go after all the power LOL…
All of this on the inside of the tank suspended from the Etac… Least that is how I will approach this at first… Then if first you don’t succeed try try again LOL…
I have to agree with you on the setup on using the 4500psi charge also… It leaves me no room either, heck here locally 3K doesn’t leave me any room LOL… So 2800 or there abouts works well enough for me LOL… I just need somewhere to start… Then see where it ends up
Edit: I have not had a chance toi check the CO2 adapter out dude, but if I had to guess I would say its rod operated from the valve to the reg on top of the CO2 tank… The adapter there is somewhat the chamber to help with the charge size you use to fire off the round… For the pressure you use with CO2, you really do need a much larger chamber, here again I am just guessing, but I would say half again the size added to the volume of this adapter and then followed by the regulated charge pushing the chamber sized charge would get the results desired…

I may try and get a regulator for my fill bottle, then run a hose up to a e tac fil nipple, that way i could play with reg air.
Then i could just turn the reg up or down and tune for exzact pressure,and the bottle on the gun would be regulated.
This could be my long range target set up ,also the etac could let me fill without going thru the condor valve and having to reset the valve with a few shots until it sets in.
I also thought about with a e tac you could have the fill bottle hooked up without a regulator while bench shooting and just crack the valve on the fill tank and refill while shooting after every 5 shot group and kind of manually regulate for consistency .
I love the idea of the ed gun ,but the adjustability of the condor is why i bought it. I have had this thing in the 400 fps with 15 grain pellets and up to 1100 fps with 32 g pellets.

PB, dude you and I need to start a thread on this somewhere on the forum here… I think we could share lots of very good info here dude as well as others here I am sure…
The reg’d air off the fill tank and or just the fill tank in-line with the rifle, I have done with the MKII of mine and I can tell you it doesn’t work this simple as you and I both think LOL… What comes into play here is the volume of things like the chamber, fill hose, even as much as the stretch of things like the fill hose that would be very very little, but what I am getting at here is every little thing adds to the end effect…
It totally blowed me away when I messed with my MKII like this… I considered my MKII to have the perfect sized chamber I had grinded and polished into the rifle chamber area… I then added the small adapters to attach the fill hose from the fill tank and shot a few rounds and quickly saw that the tank on the rifle was also part of the chamber far as the volume of pressure was concerned that helped feed each shot…
This small adapter in-line was nothing to add for as volume, least I thought so, but what it did was take off the tank volume that was… So I started adding small lengths of stainless 1″ tubing I had around here, to see where this would get back the volume of the rifles tank I had removed…
Long story of events here with all I did and the outcome, but what we will need to do to get the Condors reg’d and still be able to shoot these rifle as we wish, will be a host of tuning after getting a certain size of chamber between the reg. in the tank, and the valve the rifle lights off… Then just plan on a totally different affect if you hook your fill tank via the fill hose to the Etac… Still all in all its not such a bad place to start with actually, least the way I see this…
The fact I now have the Etac, not EteC as I have been spelling this- sorry Jim if your coping the mail here LOL… The EtaC is a wonderful addition with the fact as you mentioned we don’t have to reset the valve after each fill with a few foul shots. Got to love that fact!!!
I watched my MKII with total amazement with what the chrony showed after each thing I did to that rifles chamber, then when I hooked the fill tank via the hose to it, thinking it would be the best thing yet for the prairie dog hunts I do with this really long range rifle…LOL Its just not as simple as I thought it to be LOL… I have now since all this shot pecans repeatedly of a 100 yards and more, one right after another. The rifle is very consistant now, even without the regulator. There was lots learned…
My Condor has seen somewhat the same things with the valve setup as I have it now and the spring and hammer setup as I do… I run my top hat way tight now and never will I use the heavy spring setup again… Its just flat not needed and you get to much valve bounch from this and the heavy hammer as well. There is a fine line you need to find so as not to just puke air out the barrel after each fired for effect round…
My problem with the Condor SS right now is I still get the every once in a while, wild round of more volume and see the fps run up 15-20 fps more than the other rounds. It does settle right back down and then shoot quite few more rounds as it was, and over and over this just happens…
Trust me too, when I say I have the gun graphited and clean LOL… I have actually cut graphite grooves in the hammer to help keep the hammer lubed and sliding at will…
I am also use the labyrinth seals on our tank valve stems… Other words no rubber O-Rings, instead I use a series of O-ring looking grooves and a nice tight fit with the stem allows the air to act as the seal as well as the lube to allow a very smooth and consistant firing cycle… At least I have seen for mine, the least amount of resistance…

Anyway, lots to talk about here with such a project, one I would very much like to see done with the AF rifles… We need to get this on a thread started and proceed, you think???

These guns have been out long enough , i would have thought that there would be a in tank regulator for them by now.
Or how about a ;bull pup stock with under frame mounted tanks ,room enough for regulator.
Or hay how about a externally adjustable regulator.

You guys may have seen this site and the cool PIC’s on it. He does lots of work on all sorts of firearms… You will see some here that he does on the stealth side of the AF product…
