Q:

Regulated Tank and power wheel

In the CO2 version of the talon and condor the reports (and reviews) say the power wheel has little effect on the actual power output of the rifles. Is this because of the relatively low (800 PSI) pressure of CO2?

If a regulated tank was used with a talon or condor and the pressure was set at 1800 or 2000 PSI would the power wheel still be useful?

I ask because, sooner or later, SOMEONE has to MAKE AND SELL a regulated tank or add-on to the existing tank, right?

the TH on the co2 adapter is at max output meaning it dossent nead to be adjusted, because the preshure behind it evry shot is the same and if it opens wide evrey shot its ok, adjusting the TH regulate the how much time and how much the valve opens

I’d say a reg set at 2200 psi would be very good. My current setup shoots .25 kodiacs right at 1000fps at this pressure (I only fill to 2400psi)

And a top hat setting of???

I’ll have to check, I adjusted over chrony, found what I liked, and locked it down where I wanted it but havn’t measured with feeler gauges. a 3/32 allen key just slides between the TH and valve body. good for 23-25 shots starting at 950fps and ending at 950 fps, with about 8-10 being between 1000 and 1030 fps. ending about 1700 psi.

a 3/32 allen key. I’ll use that and then the feeler gauge. I know your talking about .25 cal., but i’m getting references.

ive been shooting my talon ss on co2 until now
just got a 4500 psi paintball tank shimmed the regulator on the tank to about 1400 psi output
screwed into co2 adapter and it works well
now my question
does anyone know what kind of pressure the adapter is willing to take ??
and am i to understand that i still have to adjust the tophat on the adapter to increase the pressure output ??
please advise what to do next for maximum velocity

A tank with a built-in regulator and pressure gauge would be very nice, assuming that you could do it in a reasonable form factor and not add too much weight.

I’ve been wondering myself what output pressure would work for airforce guns. I would certainly buy a regulator for my tank if I could get 20-30 shots at about the same speed instead of starting fast and ending slow.
