Q:

Regulator at 140 bar

Hello members

I have brand new Matador long version in .25 cal
Talking to Keyser Soze, I need a pressure of 140 bar to be able to shoot King Heavy at desired 920 fps.
Since I do not have regulator tester and factory regulator is set to 130 bar, I need info how much I need to rotate the nut to get a 140 bar?
Or even better, measured the screw depth on regulator when it is set up at 140 bars

Thanks a lot

My Edgun Matador Short .25 has the best regulator out of any PCP I have ever owned. The pictures above show a couple 10 shot strings to illustrate how well it works. But I also own an EDgun regulator tester of which I purchased from a pretty cool member here awhile back. Anyway I think Bryan is on to something here with the BC and various speeds for best accuracy/stability. Have you watched Keyser’s YouTube videos of the Matador.25 vs. Matador.22 ? Those videos really opened my eyes to how you can’t just assume the faster you shoot a pellet the better results you’ll get but that just simply isn’t the case. Oh and if you notice the difference in velocity between the two shot strings is because i lowered the Hammer spring tension during testing and so far the gun really likes either the factory setting of 130bar/930fps and 130bar/899fps

Yeah they do, that is why I sell them. They work the same, it’s just the Huma are marked so you can adjust the bar setting easier.

quote keyser soze:

I do have Huma regulator for the matador that will let you choose the BAR setting way cheaper than buying a regulator tester

Do people actually swap out an edgun regulator for one of them humas? i would think that would a be a step back..

Edgun regulators have always been simply great amazing :biggrinn:

To answer your question 30 degrees equal 10 bar move counter clockwise. I never measured the depth. Mark it where it sits so you can put it back if needed .

I do not know what I got wrong, this is your message from November? 🙄
I know of this information from Ted, he talked about his recent video on you tube,so I’ll play around with the speed and decide what to chose.

I think you misunderstood me or I wasn’t clear. I have never been able to hit that kind of speed with a choked barrel on a matador. Without a choke it will do it at 140 BAR

I hung out with Ted Bier at shot. We had a serious airgun nerd fest. One of my take aways was he found the 34s to have the highest BC at 830 FPS. I know speed seems to be the most important thing on a rifle but it is not always the case. I suggest when tuning a gun to a pellet look for the highest BC not just the most velocity. You might have a barrel that will produce a great coefficient at high speed but unless you test it you’ll never know.

The BC will determine how much energy the projectile will carry.
