Regulator Lifespan on Crickets
I am the 2nd owner of a 22 Cricket that is about 2 and half years old with about 20 thousand pellets down the barrel. Yesterday I was shooting groups at 60 to 100 yards and noticed POI moving down then back up at 80 plus yards. 50 and 60 yard accuracy was normal dime to quarter size groups.
How many shots should regulator last? This weekend I will take the chrony out to check consistency. You-tubed Ernest channel and saw his regulator tune but now Im thinking if I get into the reg it might as well be changed, especially if it has a lifespan. Being not handy I will be calling a handy friend over to help with the regulator repair, this is another reason I only want to do this once.
Anyone replace the original Cricket regulator? Ive read good things about Huma is there another brand I should look into?

The crony numbers should tell you if you need a rebuild with all new O-rings.
Never heard of one that worn out, just the O-rings can ware out and or get harden.
There are 2 small O-ring inside of the reg, the larger one 2mm X 10mm doesn’t have to leak to be/get bad.
Tips on replacing this O-ring.
Be carful when removing the E-clip that hold the rotor.
If it get bind on the inside of it’s groove when removing it can make sharp burrs that when reinstalling the rotor will cut the new 2mm x 10mm O-ring every time.
I shot as much out of my 22 standard as well with all original seals in the reg.
If it did I’d find another Cricket reg, there the best very hard to beat!
If you need a replacement, do check with AOA they seem to have replacement parts on hand for the Crickets.
I bought 4 valve stem from them last year.
Also you could ask Ernest for the rebuild, just send the reg to him to have it set to what ever pressure you want it at.

I expect my cricket and its regulator to have a life span that is equal or greater than mine!
I would not replace the reg. Clean the barrel shoot some more and if problem persist pull the reg mark the position of the delrin stop and pull that out look inside there is a brass nut inside that holds a o ring inplace if the brass nut has come loose your accuracy will be all over the place because your regulated air will be varying hugely.
The reg should last as long as the gun. You could also do a full oring rebuild on it to.

Thanks for the helpful replies and info. Going into my airgun box in the morning to make sure I have a 2mm and 10mm o-ring. I will report back after some chrony testing. Thanks again.
