I’m gonna step up to bat for the TAG and myself and say Do you think we’re all fools (April fools) and you can wave a Carrot(scope whatever) in front our nose and we will follow you everwhere and be like you and kiss your ass and say it’s all ok now. Hell no! Compensation should be to the people that lost thier Valuable family time and trust in you. actually this hurts everone will wonder if they will be paid. Why should someone who has lost nothing and has your standard of business ethics be compensated. Makes no sense to me, am i missing something here. ?
BTW should I be chosen winner of this contest the proceeds will be donated to TAG FORSALE and all money recieved will be evenly distributed to those actually due compensation. O I really am a fool for thinking he will actually send the gun/scope to someone. Played me for fool and dam if I didn’t fall in plumb over my Head. Everyone says I’m gullable and I don’t know what that means.
BTW This is a true story that happened to me and I’m still pissed 🙁
The company I work for does factory warranty service for all the major nationwide chain stores. Only thing keeping us afloat. Out of warranty service would have sunk us long ago. It was noticed that one of our accounts quit sending work? (We actually pick up and carryback) A call was placed and they said our services was’nt needed anymore and to come by and talk to the Store Manager. he very politely accused us of stealing merchandise, to compensate them and be merrily on our way.
Anyway my boss had a folder of reciets for all the mercandice picked up from the store. 3 copies each. one for the store, one on the item we picked up. one for records We sign out they sign in. The boss ask the manager to produce a reciet for the disputed merchandise. For all the reciets he produced the boss produced one of ours proving it to be inshop or instore. NO lost or unaccounted for merchandise. the manager seem a little upset. I ask the manager why didn’t he call us about this problem? The manager went postal on me. Beads of sweat popped out above his eyes, his face started changing colors. Told me not to start an argument with him he knew exactly how to handle people like me. said he could take his account away from us and see to it we would never ever do any work for the whole dam company again. Is one question never answered an argument. I think I said I’m not arguin with you about four times. finnaly my boss slapped me on the knee and said don’t say anything else till we’re out the building. Then the store manager sat back with a big shit eating grin and said he had mechandise for us to repair. should I meet him on the street his smile will never be the same.
Back to shop lunch then the afternoon shift. My boss walks up behind me and says turn around here we need to talk, I said ok what do we need to talk about. He said why did i want to start and argument that could put us out of business? I said only ask one question and didn’t get and answer, HOw was that and argument. At that moment my boss went postal. Said I didn’t own up to anything never did anything wrong. and knows everything. Couldn’t take any more told the boss I know right from wrong and I did no wrong and he’d never convince me I was.
Two ass chewins in one day for asking Why didn’t you CALL
crap.. you beat me to it 👿 😆
april 1 hummmmmm april fools day what a coincidence :15 :4
I once had a fellow call me up here at Lovett Custom Knives, wanting to buy a bunch of Hunting Knives. but the guy was so hyper that I thought he was nuts or it was a prank call.
Well he was going to be doing Rock concert 60 miles north in Waco, and invited me up to the show and then to a Bow hunt the following two days down at the Sister Ranch of the King Ranch the Kennedy. The King is the Largest Ranch in the US. The Kennedy is slightly smaller.
After the Concert, while backstage eating fantastic shrimp, and chicken hot wings, he ask me what I thought of his music. I told him that it was pretty good, but could use a little more base, and Damn! IT WAS LOUD!!!
I BUSTED BOTH EAR DRUMS!!! (Every one sounded like the school teacher on Peanuts! ) Then to add insult to injury Dumb Ass me ask him who sang the songs originally. I alway liked Cat Scratch Fever, And really liked another he did. He said the song was called Strangle Hold. (Which I learned later is the Stripper Song form Hell!!!)
He kept a straight face and was very gracious about it all. Even though the room was full of Band Members and adoring fans. How the hell was I supposed to know who Tommy Shaw, Jack Blade, and Ted Nugent was!!! I could see it on the faces in the room that had become strangy quiet that I really stepped in it and had shown my ignorance. There was more than on snicker, and a few breaths being held. As if every one was waiting for a huge explosion! 😯 😳
What a Dumb Ass!!! Well, we went on the hunt, and hit it right off.Good hunting, good food and good stories. We became very good friends. (Had a great time in New Orleans at the shot show years later!! Wow, The Big Easy with Ted Nugent. It just don’t get any better than that!! 😈
It seemed that Ted enjoyed having a friend that liked him for his love of hunting, and the shooting sports rather than being swayed by his being a celebrity. I have a crap load of famous people as customers and collectors. It really never has impressed me much. They are either decent people or they are Holly Wood type”WACKOS.”
Ted is one hell of a shot with a bow. I once witnessed him nail a Nil Gi at over 200 yards with a bow with no sights at the Kennedy Ranch in South Texas.
He was party raised by his friend and Mentor Fred Bear of Bear Archery fame, and the lessons and life style learned from Fred Took. Honesty, integraty, fighting for what is right. And a huge love for the American way of life and the freedom it brings.
Ted wrote and played a song for Fred op on his death, called Fred Bear. It is an Acoustic piece that will take you into those deep dark misty woods, at one with the Spirit of the Wild. Away from all troubles and cares. A place we all dream of being. If you can find it. Buy it, close your eyes and listen carefully. It is a place worth being. You will know what Ted means when he tells us to get our kids off the streets ans on the creeks.!
Hell, Ted even moved from Yankee Land to Texas!! Now there’s one Smart Rocker.
Ted Nugent has spent his life promoting Hunting and
Shooting rights. He has done more than any one person that I know of to help us keep our shooting freedoms. He was instrumental in helping Charleston Heston in some very difficult years in the NRA during the Clinton years.
There was another cleb that really impressed me with his down home manner, and was a customer before his death. Slim Pickens.
But that is another story!
Slim Pickens-Blazing Saddles.
” Shoot, somebody’s got to go back and get a Shit Load of dimes!” 😀
700-I gotta tell ya. I appreciate any one who is big enough to admit a Mistake. HooooYa!!!
Mike
Wasn’t my bad, but…
Someone I once knew was authoring an RFP response to create an online
store for a company with ‘Wearhouse’ in their name; back when it was cool
to have a ‘cute’ play on words in your business name, I suppose…
Upon completion, his departmental admin ran a spell check prior to
forwarding and replaced – inadvertently – “Wearhouse” with “Whorehouse”
Yup, all the way through the doc, they were referred to as a whorehouse.
Needles to say, that went over about as well as a lead zeppelin. He said his
boss actually laughed (perhaps begrudgingly) as he showed both he and
his admin the door. 😀
What’s the carpenter’s mantra? “Measure twice. Cut once.” There’s a good
life’s lesson there somewhere…
Btw, send the scope to President Elect O’Lama. He’s destined for frat greatness
– and college students can (nearly) always use free gear.
