Remington .22 long rifle Cbeees
These seem to be a basement range/10 meter round. These are powder less long rifle 33gr 740 fps mv. The primer is the only propellant used.
When fired in my CZ 452 varmint, black burnt primer is on the spent cases. So they are not sealing the chamber when fired. You can clap your hands louder then the report of this round. Also they are not consistent, I can tell a difference in sound, more hit low than high.
Which brings to today’s target practice. The cbee’s had been zero 16 cilcks/1.6mil above zero set for CCI .22 lr subsonics. First shot fffiif, fell about 12 in low at 40 yards. Second shot pop fell about 3 in low. the next 3 shot cut a ragged hole low of POA.
Added 4 clicks up of elevation, total 2mil above zero. Now the shots cut a ragged hole with POI at POA. Of course there were fliers preventing a one whole group.
At this point I move the elevation down 25 clicks/2.5mil and then up 5 clicks/.5mil to the subsonic’s zero, actual zero mark on the elevation turret.
Shooting at the same target, POA and POI was the same again. Making the ragged hole larger.
I am confused as to why the POI of Cbee’s changed and the Subsonic’s did not? The only thing that may have changed is before resting rifle on hand and today resting rifle on styrofoam block. Of course today was 85 degrees/80 % humidity and before was 70 degrees 60 % humidity.
Have you tried the Cbee’s, if so with what results. These are good 10m plinking bullets, not for anything else I can think off. When these run out, wont buy any more?

Please please please don’t fall for that. Break in is not a real thing, it won’t improve the gun at all. Just shoot the thing.
I noticed in my 5 1/2″ long barrel 1858 Rem pistol the reduced recoil rounds tend to hit high compared to normal rounds…
I read about this but haven’t figured out how it works. I know the reduced recoil rounds have cornmeal in them to increase the volume of the charge to fill the case. This may produce a higher chamber/barrel pressure because the corn don’t burn.
Or it could be something that is similar to why these reduced rounds hit high… 😯
Is there any filler in the case or just the primer at the rim?
The break in procedure for a DPMS Panther is clean after ever shot for 20 rounds, then after ever 5 for 20 rounds, then every 20 for a total of 200 break in shots.

never had cb caps be accurate in any of my rimfires, this is the reason i got into air rifle ‘s.
bad ass air rifles anyway,
if you cut the point off of your bullet and make it a square nose it has allot more killing power, for the cb’s

I have the Remington CB Short and CB long both says 710 FPS and thats about all I get. 10 yards in any gun I have is about it. But when shot in a pistol it seems to shoot better,”Ruger Single Six 6″ barrel”.
My Theory is a hand gun blows out powder and looses some of the steam. My Condor with the 23 grain Pellet shoots faster even on CO’2.
The condor gets between 720 and 780 on CO’2 and thats a good pl inking round. The daisy 22 pellets shoot in the 800’ds.
Most coon Hunters around here uses CB caps and in a tree the Raccoon isn’t much more than 10 yards.
I have a good selection of very accurate 22 rifles, and 10 yards is a head shot, I’d say without going and measuring it about a 1″ group, nothing to brag on. But neighborhood friendly. 😆
I read how these are the only “CB type” low velocity round that actually have a large enough hollow point to expand at 750 fps. I was planning on using them for close range pest hunting, but found that the velocity varied from 710-830 fps when shooting just a few over the chrony. This accounts for the extreme verticle variation in POI I see even at 25 yards. Guess I’ll have to keep looking.

I’ll clean my cz 452 when I get home this morning. Thanks Knifemaker, that’s why they shoot better after a few fouling shots. Guess I’m gonna use CCI subsonics HP and Mini-mag RN.
Shooting these in a clean bore makes the accuracy bad, so thats why my POI changed?
Look for “22 Long Rifle Hollow Point CBEE22 Remington” wrote on the box. I got mine at Dick’s sporting goods. They have a picture of a “Yellow Wasp” also on the box.

There isn’t enough pressure for the case to expand enough to seal the breach. But after a dozen shots or more, the dirty carbon build up seems to help seal them and the velocity and accuracy increase.
Make darned sure you give the chamber a good cleaning before going back to hi-speed LR’s.
I have shot them in CB caps, Shorts, and Longs. But I have never found any in LR. 😯

the cb caps are powderless and i chronyed them outta my marlin ans was getting 590-630 over 30 shots BUT they were very accurate out to 30 yards (farthest i tried em) they were great medicine for cats befor i got into airguns and still are
CCI .22 HV Short 29gr 1132 fps, these are short and Fast 😯

I’ve shot 22 CCI shorts at 10y and they seem fine… what barrel length and twist rate do you have? I think 700 fps has a small amount of powder (not just primer), the Aguila Super Colibri is definitely 100% primer with 11fpe.

come on lama , you have to know that any barrel will need some smoothing out, and anything that will help accuracy i am all for.
dps has production barrels, and any gun that i buy i will have jb bore paste thru it and i will work it over .
if i buy a used gun i will leave it out beside the desk , so that when i get home every day i will clean, patch and clean , then let soak until the next work out, then i will get the paste on it,
All this to make sure barrel is nice and clean before it’s shot.only exception is if a gun is a one holer, then i dont get real agressive with the cleaning but just in between groups,
I have had guns that were under 1” at 100 that would go 1/4” after the barrel attention. one is a rem 700 7 Mag, the other is a rem 788 222 rem.
That dam Rem 788 222 will shoot into one hole all day it seems, i have shot 5 shots into 1/4 to 3/8″ and had a friend sit down and put 2 or 3 more into the same group. Think i paid 175$ for it and it has a 100$ bushnell on it.
7 mag will shoot the group but after it beats your brain out you cant hold the groups all day for sure. under 1/2” for maybe 3- 5 shot groups, then she starts to work on me and the groups open up.
you can feel the difference with a nice tight patch after all this attention.
Allot of guys don’t worry about working over a barrel and just shoot it, and hardly ever clean . but in general they are either lazy or just not very particular. guess it has alot to due with the money you pay for a barrel too.
That might work fine for some but i don’t mind taking the time, besides there is allot of time in between getting to shoot, and this gives me an excuse to get em out and feel em and smell em. 😉
