Q:

Removing Hammer weight?

I have a Condor .177 with the Hi-Flow valve and i was wondering if taking out the hammer weight, that comes with the Condors, decrease velocity and air wasted?
Also will anything else happen if i remove the Hammer weight?

Now I have a derlin Shim behind my top hat (found the oring isnt as consistent for me.) My goals are to decrease velocity, increase shot count and have consistent shots.
Now I fill to 2200 psi and get only about 25 shots consistent shots at about 930 fps with 10.5 gr Crossman pellets.

Thats what it takes to own one of these rifles. Its really where all the fun comes from.

Ive got 2 rifles each with their own tank. One is setup to shoot surefire slugs, the other is setup to shoot Benjiman domed pellets.
Each shoot amazingly well but switch ammo on either one and neither shoots worth a crap. Both are the same in name only, virtually nothing else is the same internally or externally. 😉

Thanks for the reply. I really do like experimenting 😀

I get pretty good groupings with my current set up however I am not as satisfied with the shot count so trying to find an alternative.

Well thats the beauty of these guns, you can easily swap/remove/add things at will to see what happens.

Removing the weight will more than likely give you less velocity ect… but you may run end up not having the valve open properly. Theres a fine line between just enough and not enough when tuning.

If removing the weight is too much decrease, remove your shim behind the tophat too and continue testing. Every rifles valve will operate different from the next. Rarely will one mans setup work exactly the same for the other.
