Q:

Removing the Condor air gauge?

After putting a 1% gauge on my SCUBA adapter, I’m seeing that the pressure gauge on my Condor is over 300lb low at 3,000lb. Reading the posts, I see that’s a common problem.

I’ve ordered a 1 1/2” 1% gauge as a replacement.

Looking at the Condor, the OEM gauge looks like a 1/8” NPT but there’s no hex wrench fitting.

How do we remove the OEM gauge? Ax? Saw?

Thanks
Tuko

. Better yet take Mr newbie advice don’t do it if you unscrew it to much that would be very very bad my tank started to drain air after about 3/4 of one rotation so it had plenty of thread to hold on to yours could need god knows how much more to start to leak and if you don’t have much to hold on to POP

quote PANDEMIC:

i used a 15/16 socket it fits perfect and doesn’t chew it up also when you start to unscrew it until you hear it start to hiss leave it alone for 10-15 minutes then the tank will be empty then you can fully unscrew the gauge do NOT unscrew it all the way under pressure on the gauge will turn into a huge projectile

So at this point you have 3000psi of pressure held on by a few threads !

DON’T DO THAT !!!

Drain your tank another way!

“Just make sure its Completely Empty before you start.”

Why’s that?? 😀 😀

If if gauge has flat sides then an adjustable wrench will work. If not channel locks, round type vise grips or maybe a strap wrench.Just make sure its Completely Empty before you start.
