Revolution, Monsoon, Giant Stupid Test Video…
This video has caused quite a stir around various ag forums… My main question about this whole thing is if you have no marker for the first point of aim what’s to say the follow up shots were aimed at the original point of aim as the first? I won’t even get into the shitty rest they are using.
I’m not a big fan of FX rifles but this is simply a retarded way to test accuracy in my opinion.
I know a few folks has said you have to find the best ammo for the rifle… I don’t buy it for one second.
A truly accurate rifle shouldn’t be super picky with the type of pellets it’s fed. Once the supply of that specific pellet/die is gone your stuck with an inaccurate rifle, right? So how can you say it’s really accurate if there are no pellets available to shoot accurately with it? 😕
Now add a price tag in the $1500 range and I begin to think the manufacturer is trying to sell junk when they claim it’s critical to find the one pellet that works in said rifle. Even more so when they don’t actually produce or control the ‘magic’ pellet’s production.

My friend shoots with the FX Monsoon at the same 100m Dutch competition as I do.
After a lot searching and looking around, he did build his own singleshot tray for the monsoon and added an external reg.
His results ware REMARKABLE and… everyone was stunned!!!!
He shot 8th place at the last competition (Small bore) and 9th overall!!!!!

I think I cannot do this because the trigger is soooooo heavy and unpredictable.. But at 50m it’s super accurate, even as semi auto..

I agree, the rifles that didn’t do well should have done much better. When I saw that one group open up sideways I figured he was moving around on the rest. That or shooting from the hip. 😯
I didn’t mean to imply that the FX rifles only shoot well with one pellet since that is clearly not the case from what I have seen.
ASkiff, who REALLY didn’t like the ST barrel did a total 180 after he shot one and it was with the same pellets the guy tested in the video… Pellet on top of pellet at 30 yards, sure it wasn’t a repeater.
I believe I remember seeing Ted do better at 50 yards with the Revolution with a few different pellets. I just checked it was 0.30″ at 50 yards with the 18 grain JSB’s with the Revo on sand bags on top of a stack of plywood. 😕 😆 And that was just one group, he then switched to another pellet and the group was just a little bigger. The worst pellet (some no skirt semi lead thing) he tested was about the same size of group as the guy in the video gets…
Did anyone else notice that the guy in the video didn’t have a clue as to how to use a digital caliper? 😯
Who cares which pellet you put in the damned thing if you can’t shoot it for shit in the first place. 😉
I would argue the FX rifles are wicked accurate regardless of the pellets, barring of course the strange stuff such as Gamo gold pellets and the no skirt non-lead crap (in other words pellets that don’t work in most rifles in the first place).
DaveG has shown some amazing groups with ST barrels with a a few different types of ammo. I don’t think FX would put a crappy barrel on a $1500 rifle, that would be pretty stupid.

My FX Royale with the st barrel is the most accurate under 100 yard rifle I have owned. I was shooting full magazine groups with it to get shot count and the average group at 36 yards was .33, the best was .20.
All with 18.1 grain Exacts, which is my hands down favorite 22 caliber pellet.
Having said all that, I think we will find that the Evanix speed is like most rifles, in that some shoot better than others, I also think that it will be a game changer.
The only real report I have read, from Chapman, claims it is the single most accurate 25 rifle he has ever shot, and he even got groups in the half inch range firing full auto.
Too bad Crosman can’t do this. I suppose it is the difference in being made in Korea as opposed to China. 😆
