Running Review of the Evanix MAX-ML .44 cal BullPup

Took the gun out the box mounted a 4x scope and went to zero the gun at 30 yards.

the comparison of the Mag with the .357 Mag

Now the Gun feels good, not light but short and balanced, the sidelever is smooth and light, the trigger surprised me, I was expecting it to be heavier, I wouldn’t want it any lighter than it is.

The gun isn’t Backyard friendly Of course happy.gif but it has a mice deep report and the ping was surprisingly low.

Pyramyd sent me a box of ammo

But what I’m really interested in testing are the EPP/UG and the Roundball.

This gun is a relatively low powered .45 so I want to shoot the lightes ammo possible, on top of that those 2 rounds are cheap to buy happy.gif

Back to sighting in, I was using the Pyramyd ammo.

the lower string is 6 rounds to walk the scope to POA, the last 2 shots are the ones just under the + almost in the same hole, I didn’t adjust for the last shot.

I than refilled and shot the 6 rounds Mag.

Now, I’m already extremely happy, 12 shots out of this gun, no barrel cleaning just fill and shoot, if those other rounds are more accurate and the gun breaks in nice we have something here.

Ho yeah, 6 shots from 200 BAR end up at 130 BAR

I’ll clean the barrel next and start testing for serious accuracy, and than Chrono testing.

I’m already stoked on this gun, solid, short, functions perfect,…looking good.

So today I installed the spring Will Sent me, Here’s the strings :

200gr bullet

155gr EPP/UG .454

706

So, with a simple Hammerspring change I got a decent 4 shots Bell curve and even a usable 5th shot at close range all the while maintaining very accetable power.

That’s it !!!! …..I want this gun happy.gifhappy.gif
accuracy was good already with the extreme sloping string so it should be very, very good now, I’m sold happy.gifhappy.gif

I just ordered a .454 sizer to take the .457 EPP/UG down

quote rkr:

Were those .457 EPP/UGs hard to load when compared to .454 sized ones?

A little bit but not too hard,
I just ordered 2 boxes of .454 Roundballs and I’m thinking to order a .455 sizer to take those .457 EPP/UG down

Were those .457 EPP/UGs hard to load when compared to .454 sized ones?

The Koreans have seriously upped there game in recent years on accuracy where just starting to see them here in th ukbits a real shame are government sucks where air guns are concerned but still get the pleasure of reading your posts with envy IMO agree love to see some these true big bores in the uk to us the .30 is a rarity. Thanks, I’m really starting to take a liking to this gun, if the change in HammerSpring will give me 3-4 shots with minimal fps difference in the 180 FPE range with the .454 and the Roundball I think we’ll have a winner here.

The accuracy is definitely there is just the vertical stringing that bothers me for now.

That’s one serious looking caliber manny very cool 😈

OK, so I had this gun now for a few weeks, I shot it a lot and feel now she has settled enough to take some shot strings,….today was with the stock spring.

I have a weaker spring coming from Will Piatt anyday so I’ll be able to compare strings, and most likely improve the fast dropping velocities.

Anyway, here we go happy.gifhappy.gif

200gr Air Venturi Bullet :

667 ……197 FPE
630
609
569
559
545

155gr EPP/UG .457

725 ……180 FPE
693
685
635
627
619

147gr RoundBall .457

776 ……196 FPE
723
712
664
655
647

155gr EPP/UG .454

767 ……202 FPE
716
693
665
646
627

From this results looks like the .454 ammo might be the way to go.

Looking forward to check what the Weaker spring will give me.

It’s illegal to shoot pinball’s out of High power air rifles

I did take it for a hunt on Wednesday but I got chased out the woods by some serious Thunderstorms,

This is going to be my sole hunter for the time being.

Looking at how big the hole is in the LDC is scary. Are you going to take it on a hunt?

A little video,…just for fun

Got a nice LDC yesterday from Neil, so now I can do some more extensive shooting.

I decided to go for a 6″ + 3″ to keep length down a bit, I shot a few yesterday and it works pretty darn good,……Now for those that expect a 190 FPE .45 to be backyard friendly, a gun like that shouldn’t be shot in a standard backyard anyway,…..there’s laws of physics and all that power can only be tamed to a certain extent, and 8″ + 3″ would do a better job, but I don’t need that much.

Later today I’ll try to make a video shooting first without and than with the LDC
