Q:

Sabots?

Anyone tinkered with sabots in the Texan yet? It would seem that they are for the most part very light weight, but what a configuration! I phoned Hornaday and was told that their entire line in .45 was .459. Seems that being plastic they would be a go. The bullets are made to expand as if fired from a PB, so as a hunting projectile they should be up to par. There are as well units made to carry a round ball, meaning we could use much harder RB than pure lead. Might make a moderator out of the question though. I have used my stash of .458 405gn meant for loading my contender .45-70. Very good results.
